Richt's firing effect on recruiting?

Guys you're not gonna believe it.. Sounds like gruden to the dawgs.

No. What will happen is he'll let the rumors drag on, enjoying the attention. Eventually he'll tell his agent to come out and totally trash Uga. Something like...a man of grudens stature would never consider a career large job like Uga and he's offended as hell that anyone would ever suggest such a thing.
At least that's what that d bag did to us last time around

Initially, I thought their recruiting class would not change much, but 8 out of the 12 who responded were clearly upset by the events. If Smart takes the job, I would think most will remain on the defensive side of the ball, based on his reputation. Offensive guys will be the toughest to retain, imo. Go get'em, CBJ!!

GO VOLS!!!

Some of that is just early emotional response. UGA will do some damage control and hold together most of their class. That said I think we have a chance to pull a few guys away from them. Eason leaving could unravel their class a lot though if that happens.

I doubt Eason leaves. Florida got their QB in Franks. Michigan already has a really good QB commit in Brandon Peters. I'd be surprised if they cut ties with him, but I could be wrong. I just figure whoever UGA brings in on the offensive side will stick with the pro-style look that Eason fits. Would really love to be wrong about this, though.

Although I thought Eason said a couple of weeks ago, that Richt was the only reason he had interest in GA.

Buttsmear Hall. hahaa. I will miss Prickt, and his obvious no-reaction reactions. He always seems apathetic however deep down he looked scared and oberwhelmed.

This is EXACTLY how I feel @ CMR. It's like the longer he coached the more he tried to act unfazed when adversity would hit. It just all looks contrived.

... Then they trot 12 on the field for the final play, and run one off late. Richt thinks a :10 runoff is coming and it all comes rushing out and the headset flies in frustration.

Good coach, and UGA probably just screwed themselves, but that "cool as a cucumber" act was looking really contrived IMO.

Alrighty, then. Such a Chinese fire drill in the eastern SEC. I'm guessing Richt will return to his alma mater Miami as Smart fills his spot at HIS old dawg home. Chisick, Fedora and Muschamp would love to move into the OBC's spot @ USCe, but don't leave out Les miles moving to Columbia. Herman will wait for the Texas job to open up. Let's expect LSU to pull in the biggest name. If Chip Kelly's wishing to go back to the college game, the Tigers would have a big shot for him. Missouri's in misery with a screwed up campus culture, so let's expect the top re-routes for recruits out of UGA to be UT, UF (unfortunately), and a higher-paid Stoops at UK.

I think Miles is still at LSU.

As for Mecole, I think it depends on who they hire and what happens to Pruitt. Does UGA get Smart and Pruitt returns to Alabama? Does Pruitt stay with UGA as he and Smart have worked together before? Who does Smart hire as his assistants?

As for some other guys, this plays in with Derrick Brown although I thought UGA was actually behind some schools. So does a new coach help?

Tyler Clark, a defensive tackle from down there, is also someone I would remember. He came to the UGA game and Tennessee has been down there to see him this season. I could see him taking an OV this winter.

Just out of curiosity, but what makes anyone think Pruitt is going anywhere? They have a top 10 defense and have the #1 ranked pass defense in the nation.

He has been rubbing everyone but his players and recruits the wrong way. People have threatened to quit if he was retained it's gotten so bad. He has a history of this kind of conduct.

Google Fran Tarkenton and Pruitt to see what one influential booster and Hall of Fame alumni thinks of him.

I don't understand how they can keep Richt on now that it is official. If he stays until after the bowl game, it could be a disaster for Georgia recruiting. That is a long time with a lot of uncertainty for a 17 - 18 year old to endure.

In any sales organization, if you fire someone, you walk in the door and take everything they have that pertains to the company before anything can happen to it.

And hold all final checks until all company property is returned

Smart has a history with Pruitt. Likely he knows whether or not the staff he assembles can work with Pruitt or not. Richt's staff definitely had some issues though with each other but sometimes people don't fit with others.

I think Miles is still at LSU.

Story was Miles told an LSU club that Saturday was his last game. Alumni had the buyout covered. AD supposedly had Jimbo Fisher lined up, but then Fisher wanted 7+ million bucks a years. AD choked on that and decided to stay with Miles.
