After averaging 25 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Pickett is one of the country's hottest recruits this spring.

Yet with schools like Kansas, Kentucky, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Maryland and Tennessee in hot pursuit of him, Pickett will take his first of four available official visits this spring to Manhattan.

A strong relationship with coach Barry "Slice" Rohrssen and the allure of New York City are the main drawing points for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference school.

Will be interesting to see what happens in the off-season with this team. Probably will be dismissals, transfers, possibly going pro, etc.

Four-star junior college prospect Rico Pickett gave his New York trip to visit Manhattan rave reviews, but the Jaspers aren't on Pickett's final list of three schools. Florida State and Manhattan are out, and Connecticut is now in, joining Florida and Tennessee.

Connecticut and Florida will get visits once their seasons are over, and Tennessee has been promised Pickett's final visit.

And I'm not trying to defend him and say that we should be going after him - I don't see him improving our PG situation. The only reason I can see us going after him is if either Tabb/Maze/West won't be on the team next year - which I'm guessing is set in stone that 1 of these guys will be gone.

I'm thinking bye bye Tabb. in which case I'll take Pickett. Otherwise there is 0 point.

Did we ever hear what team rules Tabb violated to be sat for the first half of the tourney game?

This kid can't be too bad of a player if Donovan and Calhoun want him. It doesn't seem like this guy would be an impact player in major D-1 after washing out at Bama, but anybody who has a final list of Florida, Connecticut, and Tennessee has to have something going for him. I'd be a lot more nervous if UF and UConn were replaced by average mid-majors.

A friend of mine that is an athlete at UT told me that it is pretty known that Tabb and the Mary Jane go hand in hand. I was in town for the Vandy game and was a little shocked to see Tabb walking down the strip with less than an hour before the game.

True. People like to exaggerate.

No. I am not exaggerating. I have no ill will toward the kid nor reason to lie.

Had just finished up getting some late lunch and my buddy pointed out Tabb walking down the strip. We were a that point headed to the Arena bc there was right at an hour left before the game. He got picked up by a car full of women in front of the First Tennessee.

It was him. I said right at, but I should have clarified that a little better for the time police. To me, that is about a 5 minute window.

Wish I would have taken a picture now. It seems you are presumed a liar on here unless you have photo evidence, and then you still a half liar until the VolNation CSI squad confirms it authenticity. But then again, after seeing some of the other posts on here I think I know why. :)
