Riggs could be out for the season with an ankle injury that he suffered in the Bama game. They say that he will most certainly miss the USC and the Notre Dame game.

For those of you that are going to say that we are better off without him, I disagree in advance.

I didnt want to over read into that earlier. At best, a nasty sprain. When everyone is being called out, from coaches to players, I have a ton of respect for our strength and conditioning staff, sprains can not be prevented. Riggs, like it or not is our work-horse.
If anything positive can be made from this, it is passing the torch to Foster and him understanding the significance of being the feature back at the U of Tennessee.

It just so happens to be the same leg he messed up in high school so he might get a little pain off that too. But, I have played with Riggs and I know how fast he heals. Expect him back sooner than what the deadline is.

What was the name of the kid that hit Riggs? Reasion being, after watching the replay I noticed that kid intentually held onto Riggs leg during the tackle. It was a very dirty tackle by bama but... how else are ya gonna stop us???

I think our running game is the only think that keeps me sain. IF we lose riggs i just may pass out for a while!

Lets hope he makes it back, not just for the season, so he can make something for himself in the NFL.

I know what you mean. I thought he held on to the leg way to long as well. But don't you remember? UT is the dirty team!

We need as many players as we can have, we cannot afford to lose another starter. Foster looked great, but imagine how good we could be rotating Riggs and Foster.

How else are you gonna stop us? Now that is funny....we are such an explosive offensive machine!!

How about those Skyhawks!!

I usually don't agree with stuff like this, but I had the same thought watching the replay. I'm not saying that's what happened but it did look like it.

I don't think we are better off without him but I also don't think we are any worse. He has been a big let down this year and our Freshman RBs have the potential to be great.

I just heard from my dad in Knox that Riggs is out for the season.

Anyone else?

I don't understand how they are evalutating his injury and are not announcing that anything is broken or torn, but yet he is for sure out for the season.

Could it be performance based and the injury is just an excuse? Also, why is UT so open w/ injury status when it's not required? Most other team let out very little info.

That really sucks for Riggs. I think we'll be okay though. I wish him the best. We'll see what Foster is made of now.
