Right To Fair Wages

the primary problem in southern california hs that there just doesn't seem to be enough jobs for the illegal.

Which makes the fact that they ares still there and more are coming disturbing. Clearly they aren't JUST coming to work jobs no one wants. They're coming to desperately try to improve their condition, which means we may not be able to just absorb them all like some imply.

interestingly the flow of illegals has reportably slowed considerably in the last year (undoubtably due to their relatives telling them about the lack of jobs).

It would seem to me that if this administration was to somehow see to it that illegals get better pay it would almost certainly take away the main benefit to employers hiring them away. Employers who hire illegals now do tend to take some backlash, but being able to cut their costs by hiring low wage demanding illegals makes up for any backlash they might get. Take that away and fewer illegals will be hired, at least on the surface that is what I'd expect to happen.

Oh, well that seems to indicate the opposite of what I said, then. Good.

If the good ones want to be here, fine. But go home first and get in line. I am all for legal immigration but this has to be done on a limited basis and only when an American can't or won't do the job. Right now we have between 15% and 20% unemployment, trust me many of those people would love to have jobs.

I think you have to consider where some of them are from and whether a return home to get in line might be a bad idea. For instance, some have fled places like Columbia and Venezuela for safety reasons, and should be given asylum. I hate the term "comprehensive immigration plan" when the Dems throw it around, but the plan would have to be a little more complex than sending everyone back home to wait in line, IMHO.

But this is all just blue sky-ing, because it would all have to follow securing the border, and right now we are actually ceding territory to the Mexican drug gangs while the fellow in the WH refuses to enforce the border until he can be granted an entire new voting block and sues states that decide to try to enforce the existing federal immigration laws.

I am not for sending any of them home, we did not bring them here so I don't want my tax dollars going towards sending them home. If the govt would make it impossible to get a job, forbid all entitlements and enforce the current laws in place now, then I believe they will go home on their on.

I agree with your whole second statement, the fed govt has no intention on closing the border.

Before immigration reform can occur, the border must be secured. Perhaps a guest worker program can be concurrent so we still have a flow of workers that our system depends on.

Then we can debate pathways to citizenship etc.

Above all, control of the border must come first or we will see a massive immigration wave.

The part that scares me is the fact that we have an administration official giving "rights" to foreign citizens. Income simply isn't a right. Income for foreign citizens is immaterial to this government.

I believe it's saying if you were promised "x" but only received "y" then call us for help.

The problem is that it intentionally turns a blind eye to immigration violations to pursue businesses that might not live up to their promises.
