RIP Bob Saget

Imagine his wife knowing he donked his head and didn't think it was anything to worry about. Breaks my heart.
Has it been determined when and how he hit his head? Was it after he got back in to his hotel room?
He seemed so pumped up about the future and it all came to a quick tragic end.

The family put out this statement:

“Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities’ investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us," his family said in a statement.

"The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma," the statement said. "They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved."

The family concluded their statement by asking "everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter.”

I'm sure there are conspiracy theories galore, but this happens more often than people think. Remember Natasha Richardson?

I think this story is harder for people to believe because he wasn't doing some kind of activity that could foreseeably lead to a head injury. He just fell and hit his head in a hotel room, and it killed him. Absolutely crazy.

The confusing part to me was the initial report was he died in his sleep and now they're saying head trauma from a fall in his hotel room. When they said "in his sleep" I assumed they meant when they found him he was in bed. So I'm guessing maybe he hit his head, didn't think it was that bad or that he needed to go to sleep to recover then? Or was the initial report not correct?

I read it as he went to bed, having hit his head earlier.

Yep. One of my neighbors boyfriends ( theyre an older couple) tripped going down the stairs and hit his head. He passed that night in his sleep.

Appears the autopsy revealed that he also had COVID.
I can imagine that he might have fallen in the shower (maybe due to light-headedness), and afterwards, if he started having symptoms, he could have figured it was just Covid - headache, fuzzy thinking, feeling crappy in general. So sad - it’s obvious that his family and friends are crushed by his loss.

I'm hearing medical opinions that this was severe trauma. "Baseball bat to the head" or "fall 20 to 30 feet"

Whatever it was, it doesn't seem like it was a common injury, like a fall in the shower.

I don't think one would just lay down after a baseball bat to the head or falling 20-30 feet

Ugh, behind a pay wall.

Thats interesting though, if he hit his head that hard you would think he would seek medical attention. I assume with a hit like that he would have been bleeding.

The examiner they quoted said he wouldn't have been in his right mind after such a blow.

Something seems like its not adding up. His head injuries were similar to that of a baseball beating or 30 ft fall and the initial report was he bumped his head and then went to sleep and never woke up. Seems like it was actually a lot more gruesome.

But how does one do that kind of damage to their skull by accidentally falling in a hotel room?

A fall in the shower could be severe especially if he hit a faucet or shower head.
