RIP Keith Hatfield aka Hatvol

Very sad to hear. I took a break from VN at some point and when I came back he was no longer posting. Always wondered where he went.

His wit was sharp and biting, but it had me in stitches many times. Very intelligent guy.

If I’m not mistaken he was the original basketball thread guy wasn’t he? Brought a lot to the table and you better have your ducks in a row if you step to Hat.

Rest easy sir, 🤙🏻
Yup. You better knew your stuff when debating Hat. Dude was allergic to nonsensical, shallow and sheepish thinking. He brought the energy to the early Vol message board days. His postgame basketball analysis was top notch/can't miss stuff. And his irritation and highlighting of UT leadership slowly allowing the destruction of Tennessee Football as we once knew proved to be ahead of the curve.

You got that right. He irritated some people because he didn't pull any punches when it came to his criticism of our admin. But, he loved our Vols and refused to be silent as we made terrible decisions that have left us wandering in the football desert for 15-20 years, now.

In person, he was a super-nice dude and very smart. It hurts to hear that he may have been wrestling with some issues for years.

Prayers tonight for family and friends.

As some called him, hatevol, because he was not a sunshine pumper. At first I wasn’t a fan, but after reading his post I gained so much respect for him. Never met the guy but Volnation was a better place with him imo.

Had to jump back on to VN and honor the legend of Hat. As many have said he was a different guy without a keyboard but with one he was pure gold. Rest easy Keith! Thanks for the memories both online and off.
Good to see ya too CD
