I don't think Cobain would. He had some psychological issues and couldn't stand being in the spot light.

As sad as it is to say, if he wouldn't have offed himself, he would've probably OD'd later on.

Each and everyone of us have psychological issues. I know that I do. It's all in how you deal with it. He obviously didn't handle "it" very well.

Mad Season was a good one. What was the other band he was in? I wanna say Class of 99? It was like a supergroup.

you are correct sir

Do you guys ever wonder what music would be like now if Cobain or Staley were still alive (and no drug addictions)? Do you think they'd still be involved with music?

Cobain wasn't planning on making music much longer. He admitted to being sick of the spotlight and making more music would have contradicted that sentiment.

Staley was a definite no. Grunge rock and drugs (specifically heroin) are intertwined. Hell, without heroin, you can throw half of AiC's discography out the window as it was a dominant subject matter in their music. Had Staley not OD'd... he had already hung his hat and wasn't finding work anyway.

Sad.

This is all true, but hypothetically, if they could have gotten off drugs I believe they would have continued. They are artists, and will find ways and paths to create whichever road they go down.

A good example of someone who was able to get cured is Mark Lanegan. I am a hug fan of his, and he had one foot in the grave (probably closer to a whole leg in the grave) in the mid 90's early 2000's. If you look at some of the Screaming Trees or Queens of the Stone Age you can see this. But thankfully he was able to bounce back make some great music and was not a casualty, which he almost was.

Hoon, Cobain, Staley all were great and are missed.

What an amazing band and voice. Layne Staley's loss hit 100x harder to me than Kurt Cobain.
