The thing with that is a lot of guys haven't blossomed into elite players when they're coming out of high school. Rivals, Scout and ESPN are going to rate these guys on who is most ready for college not who has the highest ceiling. True, a lot of pros were former 2 and 3 star players and occasionally a guy like Cobbs gets overlooked. The problem is that a place like Tennessee, Florida or Alabama can't afford to wait 3 years for these guys to hit their growth spurt and reach their full potential. The 5 star player is usually more ready to contribute right away even if they've maxed their talent out at the college level.

We're looking for the best players to help Tennessee Vols win not the best players to help the Tennessee Titans.

From Notre Dame HS in Chattanooga. Good FR yr @ UNC, but could not slay Puff the Magic Dragon, and xferred to Okie State and had a big career. Never undertood / heard how Fulmer & Cut lost him?

We are all worried about landing Ambles, Rogers, Robinson & Stone, with X still sniffing around, I want to make sure we are firm with Loften, Copeland, Stanley, & Hunter. After the kicking fiasco of last year, we better sign that damn kicker too.

it doesn't really matter what we think....it's all about how the coaches evaluate the players. Rivals does an excellent job rating and evaluating talent....you will always have a few over-hyped busts and a few guys who come out of nowhere. Just remember that we can't sign everyone.
