At least we arent Penn State. Wow what a disaster that program is headed for. 1 two star, 2 three stars and 1 four star and thats it.

Any respect I had for Paterno State U is long gone by making a mockeery of their program by refusing to ask the old man to give it up.
They are a joke.

Wanna know something real disappointing? Over the last 8 years Tennessee has signed the 4th most 5* players & the 10th most 4* players, 3/4s of those either quit, transfered, got kicked off, or were busts.

So much for Dooley being a great recruiter:

2) Tennessee The Vols finished in the top 25 last year, mainly by stealing Da'Rick Rogers, Tyler Bray, Justin Hunter and others down the stretch. This year it appears the Vols aren't stealing anyone.
With 18 commitments, Tennessee has secured only two prospects ranked four-star or better. It is in the mix for some good prospects, but right now it barely is staying inside the top 25 and ahead of only Kentucky and Vanderbilt in the SEC rankings. Not good.

Most of them were loser Fulmer recruits. Doesn't change the fact that a correlation exists between the teams that win championships and the teams at the top of the recruiting rankings.

The 2005 Vols would disagree.

# of 4/5 HS Recruits of SEC Teams into 2005:
1. Georgia
2. LSU
3. Florida
4. Tennessee

So, recruiting rankings showed a relationship to the title winner in 2005 like every other year.

I'll just say this...

It doesn't matter how many 4/5* recruits you bring in if none of them stay. I would have been STOKED to have 3* players replace the crap we lost if it would have meant having depth and/or starting players on the squad right now (see Nukeese Richardson, Mike Edwards, John Brown, Bryce Brown, Jerod Askew (yes he's on the team, but dumb as bricks so he can't play - and I do have inside info on that), Eric Gordon, James Green, Darren Myles)....

Just sit and take that in for a second. That's only the last two years (and probably not everyone we lost). Imagine if we would have at least had people in those spots would could compete for playing time....

This stuff takes time, and patience is a virtue.

Plenty of other teams wanted those players too. Some of the busts had to do with lack of talent but most of the problems were due to bad coaching and poor discipline IMO, IMO.
