How in the hell is Mizzou ranked 3 spots ahead of us?? Makes no sense considering we have 3 signees, the lowest of which is ranked 63rd. Don't know about Syracuse also, while we're at it.

Rivals is a joke anway. But it is quite hilarious that Golden dropped in their rankings and was Georgia player of the year and outplayed Jelan Kendrick this year. Kendrick is very overrated.

incorret they are losing brandon he is going overseas
Pretty sure that was just a rumor started on a blog. There is nothing about that at all on any of the big cites, ESPN, Rivals, etc....

I would love for it to be true, but I just think it's some blogger just starting crap like most bloggers do.

Not that it matters to the point you are making, but Marcus Thornton is actually Georgia Mr. Basketball. Unless you were referring to some other type of award.:good!:

EDIT: I stand corrected. Both Players are GA Mr. Basketball, apparently in different classes.

"ZagsBlog cleared up some rumors that Brandon Knight would opt to go to Europe instead of play for Coach Cal yesterday, by going straight to the young mans father. Zags reports, “That’s not true,” Efrem Knight Brandon’s father, said Thursday morning by phone. “All that is is people trying to mess up Kentucky’s recruiting.” So there you have it, Efrem cements his sons commitment to Cal"

If Georgia is like Tennessee, they give a Mr. Basketball award to a player in every class (A, AA, AAA, etc). So technically, they can both have one.

Pretty sure there are multiple Mr. Basketball's in each state for the different classifications.

Not in KY. We are one of the few states left that utilize the sweet sixteen tourney for all classes combined. We do have an All "A" tourney for the small schools, but for state title and POY awards its all one class.

However, it appears you are correct about GA. I found articles where both players were named Mr. Basketball. However, neither article referenced a class. That could get confusing.

Georgia, as does Tennessee, has one for each classification.

I don't have time to do the research, but I would love to see the # of states left that are one class, like KY. I'm quite sure you can count them one hand, though I could be wrong. I imagine states like Montana, ND and SD having such small populations probably utilize that system as well.

I'm sure it's only the best states and everyone that lives in them loves Calipari like you and your confusing fan club on this site...

Top 10 is still great. Im more concerned about the quality of guys we have coming in and not class rank. Im very much looking forward to this incoming class getting on campus.

Wish we could have one more big man in this class but I think we'll be fine next season. Harris poses as more of a threat than Chism and Tyler Smith scoring-wise and Golden will provide some solid backup at the point. Well, atleast he won't be running from the Byron Eatons of the world. McCrae probably won't contribute much next season.
