Rob Lewis on Aidoo

Yeah........no. There's no way I'm giving Uros that much weight.

Not so sure. Uros probably would have gotten under Ed Gein's, I mean Edey's skin and caused him to play recklessly and possibly forced some more foul calls which could have made Edey less aggressive. Of course, Uros would have fouled out but I think we would have been in a slightly better position to win.

Edey really isn't that strong for being so huge. He couldn't move Awaka but was able to go over him. Estrella impressed me and held his own very well.

I know he had a rough few games but we wouldn’t be here without Aidoo just in the Texas game alone much less the season as a whole. I also agree he looked disinterested, shell shocked, nervous, and maybe all of these things last couple of games. I also know he took 3 HARD falls in the Texas game, one where he definitely hit his head, so I wonder if he is hurt or under the weather.
I like the kid and hope he is a Vol for his entire career.

Jonas had already gone up against Edey this year and was probably demoralized because he knew that Lurch would be allowed to manhandle everyone that guarded him while pushing and going over the back for defensive rebounds.

It doesn't excuse not playing with fire but I get it. It's too bad we didn't have an expendable enforcer type like Uros to come in and foul the shite out of Edey and get an F1 or possibly F2. I think the only answer for Edey in the college game with inequitable officiating is to get in his head and frustrate him. His psyche is very fragile.

I guess people are seeing something in Estrella I didn't see. I think some fans are easily impressed. I will say he bodied Edey as much as possible. Other than that I'm not sure he contributed in other ways.

Really sad commentary on Aidoo as a competitor if true...and I don't think that's the case. I think he's going to leave.

Someone needs to inform Clingan, Edey, Bacot, Kalkbrenner, Dickinson, and DJ Burns of this.
and the guy from USCjr remember him bumping like crazy on Mashack after our 5s got in foul trouble. I mean if I am Barnes or the D coach I'm telling Mashack & Awaka both undersizes and have taken multiple bully bumps from much taller and rounder Brut size for BBall 5s. I'm telling these guys I know you're tough but if a guy bumps you hard then repeats the bump you got to go with it and go down. This will either get a foul or a no-call or a flop the guys scoring anyway. The main thing is you are now in the refs head giving him pause, is this Edey guy playing football.? Look Matt Painter put the football line in the refs head and got 20 extra fouls called. IMO all were at least touches but a lot of those were no-calls through the year with other 5s but Painter played with the refs head and it worked. I'm sure he probably casually talks to them every pre-game says take care of my big guy he gets mugged every game. I think the refs have been in a little conversation across the basketball landscape that they are calling Edey different than every other 5 not just UT fans. This will help UConn IMO. Too late for the Vols.

Uros would’ve fouled out of that game in 3 minutes lol.

He may have irritated Edey a little, but he wouldn’t have stopped him.

I like what I see in Estrella but he doesn't strike me as a guy that can put the team on his back for 35 minutes a night.
I hope he turns into a true force but he seems like a support type player and that's okay.
He had good footwork for a young player and decent hands so we shall see. My guess is you’re correct that he’s not going to carry the team but how many centers do these days?

Not disputing that, nor am I suggesting it's Barnes fault for not taking them to the FF yet. I'm wondering if it's going to be any time soon for a program like tenn to reach it.
Sure, Bama finally has, but they were incredibly lucky with their path.
If Barnes is in rebuild mode, will he retire soon and then we'll need a better coach or luckier team to have the same chance.
It figures the one time the bracket doesn’t open up for us is when we have the best team we’ve had, or at least one of the best. Typical UT luck. That worm has to squirm eventually. We can’t be unlucky forever.

2 players, 7 years? He still develops guards much better. Not even debatable m
You just start 1one 5 per year so 2 in 7 years is OK & add Aidoo & Uros really improved from raw when he arrived& Estrella is coming along fine,
Guards are playing at the 1 &2 & sometimes the 3 so naturally more guards get developed. If not you're in deep trouble.

Did you see what Aidoo looked like when he arrived? He definitely developed his game. Not every player is NBA bound.
No where in my post did I say he never develops a post player. Good grief, some of you are just argumentative maroons! My post simply says UT develops guards better than posts.
