I think it was funny, worth a chuckle, kind of like an old man telling you a joke after church, not super good, but witty.

Figured i'd ride out to meet the "Palin is a genius a great stateswoman" hordes before they got worked into a tiff.

Slightly - and I mean very slightly - funny.

. . . but why on earth he responded at all is beyond me. Yes, it's amateurish as hell to write notes on your hand . . . but we already know this about Palin. Why legitimize her in any way by even referencing her?

I think it was a chance to catch the "opposition" with their gloves down on the ropes.....

Those in power think Palin is actually a figurehead for those with angry discontent. Sadly, i think she might be for those more concerned with social issues as opposed to those of significance.

It was totally, totally unprofessional in every sense. This guy is the Press Secretary of the White House and should take his job seriously. And like posted above, it was amateurish but what else would you expect from this administration?

Is it just me or have the last few Press Secretaries just seemed really weak?

So him having a bit of fun is uncalled for? It was a poke, for sure, but if you are a headline speaker and can't remember a relatively limited number of talking points, then you deserve it.

I will quietly applaud Gibbs, calculated or not, he got a chuckle out of me.

I can see making light of someone actually writing notes on their hands like a 5th grader. But to insinuate that Palin is somehow dumb for writing down some notes is laughable in an age of teleprompters.

If you think it's lame to write things on your hands, OK. But to insinuate that Palin is somehow dumb for writing down some notes is laughable in an age of teleprompters.

But is not being "livid" over someone poking fun at writing notes on their hand not as "bush league" as writing notes on your hand?

Both stupid manouvers, but i think the "outrage" over Gibbs bothers me most. People need to lay off the Savage Nation and the Falwell and remember what Conservatism is.

I think the White House should be above this kind of thing, but with these morons in power I guess nothing is off limits.

The Gibbs thing was odd timing - it was the same day BO was preaching bi-partisanship and civility.

Andrea Mitchell of NBC also did this - any hopes she had of convincing people she was an objective reporter flew right out the window on that one.

Also saw a blurb about how many press mentions the crib notes got vs. the "corpseman". I'm sure I don't have to tell you it was incredibly lop-sided.

exhibit Z that our administration is filled with elitist dorks who think they are smarter than everyone else.

They're probably smart enough not to have to write basic talking points on their hands. I'm not sure if that makes them elitist or not, though.

This. And as far as Gibbs being weak, I can't name specific examples, but there have been times he looks lost and confused up there. Above all, his "we're better than all of you and know what's better for you than you do" attitude is really getting old.

Who needs that when every single word is on the teleprompter?

Seriously, I don't see what the big deal is and why it's worthy of such widespread mockery.

What I can't figure out is why the media and this admin is so obsessed with her?

easy target

I disagree with that but without getting into you all bashing her and me defending her, she is a private citizen right now, she is not in public office and there is not one thing she can do that would change anyone of our lives. If they would do their job and look into why Barry wants to kill our economy and report it, we would all be better off.

I would say that any one that is the keynote speaker for the Tea Party at thier convention, is still a public figure.

Chi-Town petty politics is all this group knows.

She maybe a public figure but she is not an elected official, she does the same thing Gore, Bill Clinton and others do, does the media and this white house mock and make fun of them? And I am not even really all that disturbed by the media I have come to expect that from them. The White House should be above this kind of thing.
