Rod Delmonico had to go

Huge indoor batting cages and bullpens, pristine field, renovated stadium, top of the line indoor practice facility (Thompson), weight rooms, etc. Only thing they're missing is a head coach.

Please tell me what it takes to have better facilities? College baseball teams are lucky if the have their own indoor batting cages. You don't know how good UT has it until you see facilities for teams in the MAC, Sun Belt, etc.
Yes and we are better than most high schools too.

Architecturally our field is so-so. We have to have a bunch of indoor facilities because the weather stinks.

Baum, Polk, Oxford, Auburn all have better parks, much better, I've been there. Clemson, Scarolina, Texas and on and on an on.

We haven't spent the nickels on baseball (compared to football) that many other teams have when you look at percentages of $$$ spent.

Just gimme somebody who loves the school, wants the job and has Pearl's flair. W-L, meh.

Exactly the point. We have provided the best facilities possible considering the climate. All the tools and facilities are there to compete with the LSUs, Texas', and Vandy's of the world, we just need the coaching staff to go along with it.

Yes, we started out with a crap stadium, but these recent renovations have put it on par with Vandy.

And you can not compare baseball spending to football spending in D1, especially BCS conference. The AD has poured money into baseball, only to hire an incompetent coach.

I guess I meant aesthetically. With those seats up off the field, I never really liked it. But yea, it was always great functionally.

Eh God's now matching up with Vandy is good?

Then why is it we can't get a decent, first rate coach? Bad karma? It's not the facilities, right? How did we end up with Todd Raleigh and have to live through Rod Delmonico? Why is it that all those Texas and LSU quality coaches and recruiters haven't found there way anywhere near our doors?

Why?

Because we are known as a second rate, low expenditure, half-assed effort baseball program.

With Vandy level facilities? When we have the money to have Texas, LSU and others level of facilities? We don't even have the top 5 facility in the SEC, fer God's sake man, wake up! :mf_surrender:

The % of $$ that comes in and is allocated to baseball is the final reflection on UT's position re: the baseball program. We have made our point historically clear. We don't give a flying ****. Can you possibly imagine any AD who gives a real, non-virtual flying **** hiring that Assclown Supreme Rolly Raleigh?

One more time.

I don't know what else to say except that we have the facilities to compete nationally, we can obviously attract great talent; we are just lacking a good coach. And our facilities are not the reason they hired a bad coach, that would be ADMH.
