He was close to Kevin Steele and was basically a co-hire. After he arrived, he got comfortable…even when Steele departed.

I’m sorry. Freeze was preaching the gospel, telling people what a better person he was etc all the time he was banging hookers. Now he’s really doing the same. So he’s not a habitual liar now?

Some on here have bemoaned his abandonment of at all cost recruiting 5 star talent. He wants his type of guys and isn’t jumping in the sludge with a Jay Hardy. That doesn’t jibe with Freeze’s style imo.

As well respected as Garner is he probably gets new offers every season from somebody. If he was not happy here he would have already been gone. He has moved around a lot during his career, and as some other posters have said he is ready to settle down and quit moving around. We got him back at the right time.

I would hate to lose him. First, he’s a good coach and great recruiter. But second, in this day of free transfers there is no telling how many defensive linemen we would lose before we even start the 2024 season.
