There's a new twist in Michigan's ongoing search for a head coach: University officials are meeting with West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez, according to Sporting News Radio correspondent Michael Bradley.

Rodriguez and his agent are in Toledo, Ohio today to negotiate with Michigan athletic director Bill Martin and university president Mary Sue Coleman.

Michigan has been looking for a head coach since Lloyd Carr announced his retirement Nov. 19 after 13 seasons leading the program. It was assumed LSU coach Les Miles was Michigan's top target, but he has said he's not a candidate and will stay in Louisiana. Greg Schiano was contacted about the job last week but decided to stay at Rutgers.

He's a WV alum. He refused to leave for 'bama, I don't see him leaving for MEEEEECHIGAN.

They was comparing WV's offense to Purdue's??? What they hell are they smoking? I like Purdue but get real. What's with the WV/Michigan pipeline? First they get thier hoops coach and now Rodriguez?

I was reading an article this morning about how much Rodriguez doesn't get along with the WV AD....so that is a little explanation...but this deal doesn't appear to be done...does it?

Even though this might rule out WVU for Pryor, meaning he'll be at tOSU

The headline sounds a lot more certain than does the article. Is ESPN sure or just worried about being wrong about the same job twice within the same year?

i heard pryor has added michigan to his list now

but not Duke?

Does he plan on working with the position coach or just the HC? Would a new HC have enough time to be a good QB coach during his first year?

Maybe this guy is over-hyped and he's already lost his perspective.

Eric Berry... better athlete, better mind, better for the program. I'm glad we've already got him on board. Let Pryor do whatever he wants.

If he thinks one man makes a program, so be it. This is the problem with putting too much stock in one higher schooler. Besides we've already got a couple of good QB's (I hope).
