When I heard guys on TV talking about how McNamee had saved this stuff for seven years, the first thing I thought about was (for better or worse) how dramatically the Lewinsky scandal changed when she pulled the dress out.

There will be some serious questions about the chain of custody, contamination, etc. I doubt that this evidence would stand up in a court. But that doesn't mean that it won't turn out to be pretty damning to Clemens anyway. He needs to consider what he says under oath very carefully.

he spent a lot of money making sure he was OK saying the things he has said in public. Now, these few gauze pads and used syringes have dealt him a blow that he cannot overcome in the court of public opinion.

Trying to paint McNamee as a guy with a vendetta just looks pathetic. Clemens would be best served now by limiting damage and getting this over with as quickly and quietly as possible.

Anybody else get the eerie feeling that Andy Pettitte is going to be floating in the East River a few days before the Congressional Hearings?

McNamee before being a trainer was New York City police officer or detective. He knows how to conserve evidence.
