Rogers and Ambles at the game

I thought everyone said Ambles left with Rubio and went down to the tunnel for the end of the game.. Will everyone please stop saying Ambles is a Vol hater and s***. I mean really the poor kid got stuck in an airport flew back to ATL drove back up to Knox and you guys still bash him? What do you want from him? He has done nothing but get his ass up to Rocky Top for an official visit. If he wasn't serious he wouldn't have come up here and anyone still arguing a X conspiracy should just leave this board. Having Ambles will help this team. All of you on here bashing him needs to stop. You are crazy if you think recruits don't read message boards and you are doing nothing but hurting our chances with him talkin s*** and hatin on someone who hasn't done anything wrong.

I totally agree with you. We want both Rogers and Ambles. Both are great players and will look good in Orange. PEOPLE GET OVER ALL THE NEGATIVE SxxT! That is not what Vol Nation is all about! Be happy we have a great 2010 class coming in to build on the future with. Great job CDD and company. GO VOLS! :)

i am 100% sure now we get rogers.(well maybe 90%) but if we get ambles 2. when was the last time we had a recruiting class of WR U this big.

I hop we get them both. Markeith, ignore all those posts some of us have made in the past couple weeks when we thought you were going to the evil empire - we really want you here and are looking forward to you being the next star SEC receiver and lighting up opposing defenses this coming fall. Kudos to you for going through hell and high water to get here this weekend - that takes some determination and character.

I agree 100%. Markeith please over look the negative crap. Some of them are just getting the Coach X out of their system. We will all be behind you 100% when you sign on the UT dotted line.

Winutvols, great pictures, great job recruting, too. Thanks for posting them. GO VOLS! :dance2:

Being serious about UT is the right thing for Markeith to do. I am sure he gets the picture with X by now. A few of us had some concerns that he not fall for X's song and dance that is getting old now. UT and Knoxville would be a great place for him to shine before he moves on to the next level. Great receivers coach, great receiver tradition, a program moving back into its power, Markeith must see these things.

man if the entire vol nation would listen to the ppl like us and the other TRUE UT faithful that believe in sportsmanship and being a good fan, the university would be a much better place. to u and the guy u quoted: GREAT posts! keep up the good work! lets get ambles and rogers! we'll have one of the best wr corps in the country if we get them both!

as happy and heart warming as the post was, it didnt give any info, so i didnt read it. not meaning to be a debbie downer or anything but the large happy go lucky paragraphs in each and every thread are getting annoying (yeah i know im typing a long one myself, im just saying)

Hubbs on the local news made a good point on all the negative comments (not everyone) being made at Ambles.

Not exact to his wording, but it gets the point across... "First off he was recruited by a different head coach, and in his recruiting process at UTK he has talked with 3 different WR coaches... Wilson, Kippy and now Bagget. Give the kid a break and see his point of view on decommiting when he did to explore other schools"

Our fanbase needs a kick in the butt beforevery game. I know our team is bad at times but the college players feed of the vibe of the crowd. Our crowds are pathetic..Why does it take the coaches and players waving their arms before the crowd wakes up?? SAD!!:snoring:

Same for football. We won our first National Title in nearly 50 years and got all high and mighty. (Title game one year, fired the next). If you are not there to spur on your school simply stay home. Tickets do not come with liscense's to make your personal displeasure known. We deserve a home field advantage too. And in closing; V,B!

i was right there in the student section where roger jumped in..... he and niles nash jumped into the mosh pit as soon as the game was over. they started singing rocky top, chanting "its great to be a tennessee vol", and swayed with the students to the tennessee waltz.... and during the game i saw that rogers had gotten ahold of a Go Vols sign and was waving it around like crazy. i think that this combined with the fact that nash and he are best friends and nash is trying to pull him to us gives us a GREAT shot at getting him. he seemed really into the spirit of the game and beating the gators

Great posts guys! I totally agree. Let's not judge these guys before they ever step foot on the field. It's all about getting the best players we can with the information we have about them and then just letting them play. That's all you can do. I hope UT get's them both!

"Never show weakness", "Moxon you have got to be the dumbest smart kid I know", "Did the circus come to town, cuz I didn't see any trucks" , "The only pain that matters is the pain you inflict" , "that moxon aint worth the charmin he wipes his butt with"

That movie is full of great one liners

This! I give it a ten! a ten! a f***in ten!

5 experts on rivals are making predictions on who is goin where, all 5 sayin rogers will sign with us. 2 outta the 5 said ambles to us with the other 3 sayin him to UNC. i've been readin UGA message boards all morning and they are all bashin the nance family and rogers SOOOO bad. they are all sayin bad $h!t about them. the RB rajaan bennett signed with vandy. the DT whitaker signed with auburn. alot of ppl are sayin glen stanley is leaning to USC big time. the final word i've heard on commits is that we can enroll 27 and sign 30, we'll have to send 3 to prep school or a juco school if we sign 30. a couple of the guys we are going after i think coach dd is planning on sendin them to a prep school like hargrave to let them bulk up and get more adapted to being in college life but thats IMO. i've also heard that jacques smith might be moved to OLB if we change to a 3-4 defense so that he'll be a pass rushing OLB. i think if we do make the switch we'll be able to get more pressure on the qb and it will take the pressure off being shorthanded on the DT spot. the DB sapp is 6'3 205, if he puts on 15 or so pounds he will be a great coverage OLB and propst is one of those big hard nosed run stopping MLB's (6'2 220 mostly muscle) that u see in the 3-4 defense. it's looking like we might make the switch, what do you guys think??? what type of offense and defense has coach dd ran in the past?

good post. 3-4 will definitely help cover up our obvious lack of depth at DL

thanks bud. i think we will be ok at DE with ben martin and chris walker being the starters and with willie bohannon and marlon walls gettin alot of playin time last season will be solid back ups and corey miller will get a good look at playin time too. the DT spot is the only one i worry about because dan williams was the anchor in the middle last season but hughes got lots of playin time so he will be ok. beyond that is the scary part with almost no proven guys behind hughes. we have depth and talent at LB and with the guys in this class that can be moved to LB easily theres several signs pointing to the switch to 3-4. i think reveiz propst and lathers in the MLB spot will be great, the OLB's will be a toss up until we get outta spring ball and see who gets moved where and who steps up from last season but lamarcus thompson got to start several times last season so he will be in the mix along with redshirt freshman jerod askew and the freshmen in this class. walker and martin starting on the ends and hughes in the middle. the front 7 could possibly end up being a strenght of ours this season, i hope so at least. the teams u see playin in championships always have a solid o-line and d-line. thats where we should start building our team at is in the trenches.

Our current DEs are too small to play a 3-4. They would have to be moved to LB. 3-4 DEs are usually over 280 lbs.

thats the problem with our entire d-line. hughes being the biggest d-lineman at 290 (at most). walker and martin are prolly around 230.
