The Night Before Vol Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the volnation,
Apathy had set in, with almost a contagion.
Coach Jones had a plan, as the recruit list was full,
An overall feeling of care and good Yule.
The recruits were flat out, asleep while they grew,
Jones knew what a good signing day meant, and the VOLS are due.
A second past midnight, there rose such a clatter,
The 4 and 5 stars jumped up, curious to see who made the patter.
Down the aisle came Hurd, Bates ,the Berrys two,
Malone, Henderson, Pearson and the rest, too.
More rapid than eagles, these coursers they came,
They stamped their cleats, Jones shouted their names.
The class was wild eyed, prancing and pawing,
The sight of the Power T and Orange, was destiny most awing.
With a toss of his head, Jones lead the troops to the doors,
The message was clear, Championship history is made and it can be yours.
The youngsters grew quiet, they saw the future that night,
To an SEC Championship, their Tennessee birthright.

Weren't these celebrations dictated during the time of the law...Pre Christ?
The wise men were sent to celebrate the birth of the Christ, bearing gifts and guided by a star.
To celebrate or commemorate his birth in remembrance, similar to observing The Lords Supper or communion, seems to me to be more reverent than pagan.
Just my opinion, not being argumentative.
