Rommey starting to pull away in polls

how so? Are you familiar with his record at all or did you just jump on the Romney train from the Cain station?

Paul and Johnson are typical politicians, if they were so principled they would have never ran on the ticket of a party in which they can't stand. Romney was not my first choice but none of my first choices ran, they are still kind of young and need a few more years before they are ready. But Romney is a hell of a lot better than this moron we have now, there are no comparisons in the two. Obama is hell bent on collapsing this country, and if you all can't see that there is no help for you.

a simple NO would have sufficed

To what end would any politician "be hell bent on collapsing this country" ?

I am a Pauly and now pj is an Obamite.

Justin is on top of things this morning.

his visits are always good for a laugh. Reminds me of the poster that called me a bama troll mod once (and only once :whistling:)

And from you, a simple I am ok with another 4 years of Barry would have sufficed.

yeah that's what I want. If you were familiar with GJ's record you would know that is absolutely not the case. However, I have decided I am not going to compromise and vote for a guy like Romney just to keep Obama out. I value my vote more than that. As long as people are willing to compromise and vote for whomever their party reheats and trots out then nothing will change.

I am absolutely interested in fundamentally transforming America too

That's where our differences start, I don't see Romney as a compromise, I did see McCain as a compromise.

given to me? No, the ones that actually wanted the job. Unless those that you wanted match up exactly with Romney you compromised

So you just wait until candidates announce they are running before you have any thoughts of who you would want?

kinda hard to vote for someone not running isn't it? I have not found anything I disagree with GJ on anyway so it doesn't matter

Do you know how to write? If so, do you know how to spell the name of the 'one you really wanted'?

No, you can write them in, will have the same outcome as voting for a 3rd party guy. And what I meant by not first choice I have sort of a dream list of people I would like to see run, so when none of them announced they were I had to look at everyone that was running.
Bobby Jindal, Alan West, Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio.

you take a shot at my investigative skills when your list only includes those in the national spotlight or ones that have been talked about as possible Pres candidates? Strong work

Bobby Jindal, Alan West, Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, Mitt Romney.

This makes perfect sense.

Justin as long as people like you are afraid to jump off the main party system, you're right. Keep being scared to death of change and no change will come. Hope you enjoy it.

I hear this line all the time and I just do not agree. As soon as a third party candidate gains enough traction in order to have a chance to win, I will consider voting for them. My vote simply goes to the candidate I like the most (or dislike the least) who has a chance to win.

Its not my fault that no one knows who the hell Gary Johnson is.

So how does a 3rd party candidate gain enough traction if no one sticks their neck out to support him?

you're sort of right but the media shapes too many of people's views on elections. They are doing a bad job informing the voters of their options and the too many people just won't do it themselves

I generally agree and if I thought voting for a third party candidate had any realistic chance of helping a third party candidate be elected in the future, I would throw away my vote for that election.

I guess I just have such a cynical view of the American public that I assume a third party candidate will never make it. There are just too many people dependent on the government in so many various ways that a person that truly will cut government has no shot. Thus, I have to vote for the lesser of two evils.

Afraid? No. The R party as a whole is not perfect and many who call themselves Republicans I disagree with. But as of right now The R party is the only hope we have. I refuse to throw my vote away for some 3rd party guy who won't have any effect on who wins or loses.

What do you believe Romney will do that will vastly differ from GWB and Obama?

To greatly reduce government spending ultimately means cutting a large amount of government jobs. Romney, like his GOP predecessors, will not take an ax to the government work force (this includes reigning in the EPA).

Romney will continue the Bush-Era tax cuts; Obama has extended those tax-cuts and it looks like he will extend them again.

The SCOTUS will most likely rule against the individual mandate of the healthcare package, but the rest will most likely remain intact. Do you think Romney will hold true to his actions as governor or to his insistence that socialized medicine works on the state level but not on the federal level?

Obama has been every bit as much of a hawk as any recent president; do you think Romney will be less or more hawkish?

Romney and Obama speak differently; however, I do not see any evidence that they would govern differently (that is, as nothing more than populist centrists).
