Ron Franklin does it again

FWIW, during SEC Media Days 3 years ago, Franklin was there in all his preening glory...He was perhaps the most obnoxious announcer there, refusing to grant even a minute of his time to anyone who asked while I was around him...He made Joe Biddle look downright hospitable, which is almost impossible to do...IMO He has a serious 'holier than thou" attitude and I for one could care less if he EVER calls another game...

I spoke with him back in 03 when we hosted G'town in the NIT game. Was very nice.

The PC Police have struck again. If a Navy Captain is not immune, why should we think a sports announcer would be?

I'm glad you like him tiger..It's good to know he was able to be nice to at least one person...IMO It's just too bad that is the exception with him and not the rule...

Sorry Ron, this isnt Mad Men. If I called a coworker Sweetcakes in a meeting, I would not be employed by the end of the day. I had a boss like that who would say stuff about women, minorities and peoples religion. Its very awkward. I did not work there for very long and the guy is getting sued right now. Its 2011, not 1970

The problem is that political correctness blows stuff like this way out of proportion.

Personally I don't think women should be on the sidelines, football is a man's sport and men should be doing it instead. I guess if they are going to do it anyway then the women should get over it and expect things like this. I know I might get flamed for saying this but this is how I feel. I really hate Political correctness too.

Well I'll get torched right along with ya' tgirl because I absolutely HATE hearing a woman in the booth calling a game...ESPN has a couple and it drives me crazy!!!!..It might sound chauvanistic but oh well...Get the women out of the booth!!!! There have been some good games I've wanted to watch but BOOM!! a woman is calling it and there goes the remote changing channels....Sad...

Personally, I think you should take your opinions back to the kitchen. I hate political correctness too.
