Haha I knew that. I'm more curious as to how we think this will effect their ability to be competitive. Good hire? Bad hire?

Roper was QB coach at UK during the Lorenzen-ish years. Not a bad QB coach. Haven't kept up since then.

This could turn out to be just what Florida needs, or taking Roper from Cut's staff could turn out to be as valuable as taking Pease from Petersen's staff.

I hope they don't think this will be a quick fix. They have spent the past 3 years recruiting for a pro-style offense moving to the spread wont happen over night for them. But hey they can't get any worst than they played last year

Since when does Cutcliffe run a spread? Roper's spent 15 yrs with Cut, all he knows is pro style.

I don't know enough about him, but my gut says this is a bad hire for UF. I would think Cut really runs that offense anyway.

Of course it's UF. I'm sure he will look like a genius against us and the QB, whoever it is will be put on the heisman watch list after the game.

My 2 closest gator aquaintences are extremely dissapointed. They are brainstorming who will replace Muschamp after next year, lol.

I remember a lot of belly aching about him when he was an assistant at TN..... But people complained about Cut and Chavis too so obviously our fans aren't the best judge of assistants.

That's what I was trying to figure out...Duke was a purely pro-style offense....Pretty sure Cut was more involved with the offense than is known.

What I've seen watching them the past two years has looked a lot more spread than pro style.
