Shaw got way to conservative to end the game. That was some of the worst play selections I have ever witnessed.

Oh and a former walk-on making his career start in the 100th Rose Bowl making the game winning stop, story book.

On the other hand, going straight to the FB prevents peripheral defenders from being involved in the play. And if any of the core defenders are taking any type of a timed action (charge the LOS and then try to jump over the pileup), going to the FB can disrupt that.

I am, admittedly, a little biased here......but that was a great game!! Freaking incredible.

A quick note on Ellsworth, he has been a solid contributor for years. It feels like he has been there for 10 years now, but he has been very solid in a back up role, and especially on special teams.

But there are many games, where we needed a big play, and Ellsworth was right in the middle of things. Dude came through bigtime.

And if you have a chance to rewatch that last stop, look at Denicos Allen getting absolutely trucked as he comes across the line, but the dude ends up with his hands on the ballcarrier before the play is over.

That whole D is tough as nails. Love that team. Go Green
