They gave him some kind of rolling/lifetime type contract years ago. His buyout was and maybe still is in the 8-figure range. Corn prices are low right now, Iowan's can't afford to buy him out.

Stanford is probably baffled as to how they lost to NW and this Iowa team beat them. That loss has them in Pasadena rather than Miami or Dallas.

ESPN put up some stats a while back that compared Mccaffery to the Iowa offense. Mccaffery has out gained and out scored the entire Iowa offense.
