When I see all the Big 12 love, I remember the first week of the season.

TCU/TX/TT vs AR/MS/MSU

SEC won 8 of 9 games.

TCU beat MSU for only Big 12 win.

Still better than anything the ACC accomplished
Texas did crush SoCar in a 3 game series

Average Ranks.jpg

Regional host finalists in blue.
Must be ranked in at least 2 polls to be included.
By the way, Michigan is ranked 26th in Collegiate Baseball poll but #99 RPI
Maryland - who "upset" Michigan is 25th in D1 poll but #65 in RPI

LSU is the highest RPI team that is not ranked. They are #21

Looks like D1 has moved us back to a 5 seed...Arizona is now a 4

Luckily, the mags don't make the decision I guess

That's a really tough #2 seed. Possibly the toughest for a national seed.
the have #6 Notre Dame with Michigan as #2 seed. Joke! But at least LSU is #3.
Texas Tech as a #8 seed has a softer region. Even softer than 1,2 and 4
I do like there are no SEC matchups for Super Regions unless there is an upset.

The UF vs.UM/FSU regional or super overlaps are getting old as are the smaller Southern schools playing the state SEC schools in matchups that already happen in the regular season. Can easily shift USM/La Tech to Lubbock, Ok State to MSU/OM and send Nebraska to Fayetteville. Granted these aren’t the final say so’s but in 30 seconds I moved 3 regions to keep schools relatively close and eliminate repeats of regular season matchups.

In other words, your brain synapses are functioning (as compared to the nonfunctioning experts lol)

by the way. It would hard to argue against hosting assignments in the order we see them. There are no west coast teams as national seeds but they’re more than represented in the 2nd eight.

I could see Gonzaga taking a spot from either Charlotte or SC and Irvine going there. A Charlotte/SoCar region in either city would be very competitive.

However, this would pair Miss State and Ole Miss in. a potential Super matchup

TENNESSEE is the big mover in RPI Top 10 this week

up 3 spots since Sunday to #6

Fairfield lost to Rider in tourney finals so they will need an at-large bid to make tourney. So Rider may have taken a bid from SEC team

Tennessee’s OOC SOS continues to drop with good teams tanking like Charlotte. If Indiana State, WCU, Georgia Southern and Peay win their tourneys, a top-5 is possible

I suspect these RPIs will closely represent the national seeds
Obviously Fairfield can’t host so Notre Dame will get that spot over Texas Tech-even though I don’t believe the Irish are better than TTU. I would like to believe Stanford and Ole Miss are in running but the committee and pollsters have already written in ND in sharpie a month ago.

Aaron Fitt from D1B said in a pod cast yesterday he’d give Fairfield an at large bid over an SEC team based on their run this year even though they’d finish 15th if they played in the SEC. Giving teams at large bid based on a feel good story is ******** IMO.

I don't know if it would make a difference to in the rankings but I'd sure like one more shot at the Hogs. End the season 2-2 against them.
