RTL Rosters...

I have been impressed with Galen Campbell, I don't look for how much he scores but more to of the shots he's been making. I think he is redshirting this year and im starting to think he may get some good minutes by his JR. Season. Also, can we trade Lester Wilson for Derek Reese?

I'm really curious if Lester can perform well at ETSU. I could see it going either way

Galen is no longer a member of the team, what're you talking about?

I don't remember that?

He was a walk on, then removed from the team, then returned.

I think he's talking about red shirting a walk-on.

Edit: I just read the story. I thought this was old news. It's not like Campbell is being thrown out in the cold. He is still associated with the team. Some admin role if I recall correctly, then back on the team when Murphy graduates.

Yea but when you redshirt you still practice with the team and do the workouts and everything. Galen will not be allowed to do either of those things if I'm understanding correctly, right? My understanding hell basically have no connection to team activities this year.

Either way, glad hell be back next year, great story Galen on Lopez both walking on together here.

Maybe helping with film or practice? Not sure what exactly but Martin said he would try to keep him involved with the team. What that means, I don't know, but it did sound like he would still be "with" the team.

Seems that wouldn't be allowed? As strict as NCAA rules are I'm not her he'd be allowed to practice with the team or do film study, NCAA would probably consider that a benefit to Campbell that others don't get. A year of progression, practice and film study all while not using a year of eligibility just to come back the following year.

Not saying you're wrong, just seems as strict as the NCAA is this would be prohibited, guess well see.

If Campbell isn't on scholarship, how is him getting to practice a benefit, or do film study? I honestly don't think that is what Martin is saying though. There have to be plenty of people that assist in the day to day activities of the program, some of them are probably students. Based on what Martin said, Campbell will be doing something like that.

Also, his year of eligibilty is burning whether he uses it or not. Once student enrolls at an institution, their clock starts and they have 10 semesters to play 8 semesters (unless they get a waiver from the NCAA).

Ok, there was a line in that article that was very misleading.

There is no such thing as a redshirt walk-on. It was just a metaphor for the role that Campbell will play this season

More than 8 points in a RTL game..

He's had at least a couple 15+ games and at least 1 30+ game.

This all coming off the top of my head from a few GVX articles. Could be mistaking, but I know for a fact that he scored 15 in the first game, and I'm 99% sure he went for 30-32 one night.
