Rumor Alert: Corso and Fowler out

Herby can only do the Gameday show and fly across country to do the evening primetime game in the same day for so long. I would hate to see Herby leave, but I would understand it. I like the job Rece Davis does for the basketball gameday, although he is a Bama alumn.

Herbie is going to be Brent's right hand man.

hm. messing with a good think i think.

Karl Ravech though? ugh. he needs to stick to baseball.

if anything, they should move Reese Davis in to Fowler's chair, and put Mark May in Corso's seat and bring back Trev Alberts. then you can have the studio portion consist of Eric Casilias, Ed Cuningham, Tom Luganbil, and really anyone else you can think of. you can have Holtz too if you want, but if it is Holtz and May, they're just banking on the on air tension that always seems to build between the two as they regularly disagree with each other.

but game day hosts consisting of Reese, Trev and Mark would be pretty good i think. Of course that leaves no room for schtick that corso had, but who cares if someone puts on a headgear or not?

Wow, I can't wait for Lou Holtz to get on Gameday. We will all be treated to him always picking Notre Dame to win every single game on saturday (even the ones they aren't playing in). That old fart sounds like sylvester the cat.

why mess with something you've invested so much in? I can understand herbie moving due to broadcasting...but the other guys?

Mark May has usually had good things to say about the Vols in the past, which would be a welcomed change from Chrissy Fowler.

I'm pretty sure ESPN wants nothing to do with Trev Alberts.

Better Mayday than Jesse doofus Palmer...
exactly or Andre Ware. i watched college football live yesterday and he was breaking down Georgia, and when he go to discussing their schedule he actually said that 'we'll know alot more about Georgia when they take on the Hokies in the GA dome'.

but he still has a job. ok.

i know. but i think he stirs it just enough, plus he makes no bones about who he thinks is good or not, that he'd be a good fit. i don't think that'll happen.

I'm actually disappointed. I enjoyed watching College Gameday whenever I could on Saturdays. Now, with Holtz coming on...I will officially NEVER watch. Lee Corso frustrates me about as badly as Al Franken. I absolutely cannot understand how he has been able to land any job in broadcasting.
I wish they were just replacing Corso with Woody Paige! That would be funny.

Never have understood why Tennessee has been the punchline of so many jokes like that. Has ESPN ever been to West Virginia?

Since this is just rumor, here's an angle...

I've thought for a couple of years now Berman might retire.. Maybe Fowler is being moved to the NFL countdown desk...

Can you imagine if they threw Lou Holtz, Skip Bayless, and Jesse Palmer on there? That's an atomic bomb of douche-ness.

Berman is another one that I can't stand. Actually ran into him at the ESPN zone is D.C. He is very arrogant. The man needs to learn how to take a breath when describing highlights.
