If the Cowboys lose tonight, Wade Phillips will be fired opening up the head coaching job for the Cowboys.

One of my contacts has told me that jerry jones has already been in contact with Nick Saban.

He also told me they were throwing out numbers like a 10 year- 100 million dollar contract with a lot guaranteed.

Now I know Saban has it made at bama, but we also know how much he loves money and that he isn't loyal, so I could see this happening if Wade Phillips gets fired.

Also, multiple sources in Tuscaloosa have seen Oklahoma's head coach Bob Stoops twice in Tuscaloosa over that past 6 weeks.

I know saban tried the whole "NFL" thing with no success, but he also started out with the Dolphins who did not have nearly the talent as the current Dallas Cowboys.

Personally, I hope this works out because it would open up recruiting even more for the big orange.

Again, this could just be a farfetched rumor but thought it would be nice to share.

I wouldn't be surprised if Saban eventually tried the NFL again but Dallas doesn't make too much sense to me with jerry Jones running things. I thought Saban, like Carroll, wanted more control over personnel decisions.

If two people ever deserved each other more... Jerry Jones and Nick Saban. If you could somehow throw in Al Davis you'd hit the trifecta!

It be a better job.

Not going to happen anymore anyways. Cowboys are on fire, and Wade's job is secure for at least another year.

Why would any NFL owner throw a giant contract at a guy who's already walked out on one NFL team because he wanted to go back to college?

In fairness to Saban, I think that alot of the angst over him leaving the Dolphins had to do with whose son lost the job that Saban took. I'm pretty sure that Saban was not going to last another season with the Fins. He pretty much beat 'em to the punch.

Crious thing is OnTheRow was the first to report Kiff's departure about 4 hours early by his sources and everyone here jumped on his A** for it.

Just saying, He was right on the other seemingly crazy rumor he posted......

It would be great to see jerry jones go after kiffen for HC. Then as soon as kiffen jumps at the chance and he quits USC, JJ says just kidding. Leaves him with out a job.

Hey I can dream can't I?

Never happen. Wade is back next year unfortunately. Unlike Pete Carrol, Nicky realizes he is now a God in the state of Alabama. He can do whatever he wants for as long as he wants. I know he's a greedy guy, but he knows he is sitting on a gold mine down there.

The only thing we should discuss is why you make up lies and post them on VN.

FWIW, this guy called Kiffin to USC long before it broke in the press. I doubt he's just making this up.

Anybody here with a clue knew that if USC offered him, he was gone.

The shock at the time was that USC actually offered him.
