ChicagoNow wrote an article that Ohio State Buckeye’s head coach Jim Tressel was stepping down as head coach after the Sugar Bowl. The news caused quite a shack up on the popular social media site twitter.com as his name “Jim Tressel,” went straight to the world wide trending topics list on the micro-blogging site. They reported that Tressel decided to leave at five key players for the buckeyes have been suspended for the first five games in the 2011 season, and reported an outlandish number of supposed violations while Tressel is head coach.
However, Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith, tweeted from his verified twitter.com account that these rumors started by Chicago now are completely false, and even NBC sports are reporting that the rumors of Tressel’s departure is false
“For what it’s worth, we spoke to one potential recruit and he’s heard nothing of what’s being reported, either Tressel stepping down or recruits being told that they are “allowed” to look for other options.”
Even local news sources in Cleveland Ohio are reporting the same thing that this story is completely false, and the reporter of chicagonow that reported on this is only looking for hits to his blog, and he got it, but at the expense of his own credibility."
