Rumor Mill Diamond going overseas!

Did you coach her in AAU? Because I have no idea who you are. I don't post much but am always reading were you act like you know more than the rest of us.

This is my personal opinion of my daughter having played AAU and college ball. Oh, and by the way she got this little attitude that she was going to transfer, and I told her "NO". She has since graduated and is coaching high school.

Diamond was a Gold player. I coached Purple (Second tier). My forte was developing players. I preferred to build my own instead of cherry picking other people's talent.

We played DD's team. And I watched her in tournaments both teams were in, several times. Then I saw her play for the GA Ice and GA Comets (I thinks that's who it was??).

She played hard.
No option!
Her AAU coaches didn't worship the ground she walked on. . . They worship the game.

Can't believe people are trashing Diamond and saying the team is better off without her. Anyone who thinks her presence on both ends of the court won't be missed is just kidding themselves.

Her freak ability will be missed, but not the pouting and turnovers.

The turnovers were a result of her ability to create her own shot out of practically nothing. Not the greatest decision maker, but at least she was always in constant attack mode. That ability to create for herself and others will be sorely missed, and someone will need to step up to the plate to take over that role.

She didn't play with that attitude when she played for the Pistols.

And by the way, bite me. . . I tell my players how bad they are,, and how great I expect them to be.

Don't blame AAU coaches.
We build players. . . The universities build the TEAM

jimper - maybe you should consider what Auriemma has to say about AAU coaches.

Don't care what he says...Geno plays our way. AAU mindset,,,..Win or go home basketball. . . Point differentials count in the bracket play.

More of us with that mindset should get the opportunity he is blessed to have.

Tremendous athlete, but could not get out of her own head long enough to be the player she said she was.

Folks wondered why all the team chemistry issues and inconsistent play; now you see it. They nearly tore apart the team from the inside.

I'm very disappointed because I wanted DD to leave this great legacy at TN like she wrote about in her 4-page IG post. Instead, we're left with the final time where her actions didn't live up to her words.

We play with who we have left and Holly should be held totally accountable for whatever season we have. Hopefully she can turn it around but this should be her last season to try. If we again go more than 10 losses she should be fired no reason to continue in the current direction.

So if we get 10 loses but still reach the final four she needs to go?

I don't think the two go together but if she made the final four with some late season magic of course you would let her stay. I should have stated a season like the last two.

Has anyone else heard that Diamond is forgoing her senior season to go play overseas? I have heard from multiple people she is leaving and it's really disheartening to hear. Just wondering if my sources may be wrong or if anyone else have heard this floating around. Not trying to start anything, but I had to ask

Go make money.. smart

Will she go in the draft next year with Samuelson, Collier, etc? In hindsight, it seems boneheaded that she didn't enter the draft this year although I would take Plum any day of the week over her. Her twitter says it all "god's favorite daughter" as she thought very highly of herself. She played with more arrogance than confidence.

Samuelson and Collier will be juniors next year. The top graduates I can think of besides Mercedes and Jaime are Aja Wilson, Kelsey Mitchell, Gabby Williams, Kia Nurse, Stephanie Mavunga, Linnae Harper. Outside of a few, I think Diamond would be a very attractive pick in this field.

FWIW, Kelsey Plum has been a non factor in the WNBA. She can't score against the better competition, and can't defend anyone. She's basically the Jimmer Fredette of the women's game.

Plum was also a horrible fit for San Antonio and what coach Vickie Johnson wants to do and will be traded to Seattle this offseason (San Antonio should've accepted the offer of their 1st next year, Crystal Langhorne and Keleena Mosqueda-Lewis for Mo Currie and the 1st pick of the draft so that they could draft plum)

That's pretty d@mn stupid of SA to pass up on that deal. Crystal Langhorne alone would have been made it worthwhile. Her and Izzy in the frontcourt would have been a very formidable tandem.

I didn't really understand the logic behind SA taking Plum to begin with. Jefferson and McBride is their backcourt of the future. They really needed a wing and a post, and had the opportunity to get an excellent post and a sharpshooter, and passed up on it? That was a gift. Kelsey IMO got too much hype. I thought she had Fredette written all over her from the time that she was projected to be the #1 overall pick.

If Kelsey doesn't turn her season around, SEA might not even want her. She will go for pennies instead of dollars.

They will take her to bring in/keep the fans when Bird retires just like they will also bring in Shonni Schimmel from New York(her family lives 3 hours away from Seattle).

Her next to lord will take the pressure off of her to score.

I think SA panicked when Diamond decided not to come out to be honest. The should've still taken Coates an waited it out or slid down to take Gray or Davis because as you said they needed a Wing and a 5 not a PG. At 0-13 I still wouldn't be surprised if she (or McBride who wants out of SA) is traded at the trade deadline

I saw this yesterday on Margo's Tennessee fan page on FACEBOOK. You guys should really follow the page on Facebook. Hope its not true but I can actually see this happening not to mention she took down that letter she posted on IG about the freshman. Something is up!

What is the exact title of the FB page?

Kelsey Plum injured her ankle in practice right before the first game. That could have affected her performance.
