Rumors flying

If this is true ( highly, highly doubt it is) then the only two guys that I would hope we use the scholly on is

1. Riek ( already established there is a .001% chance of this.
2. Rashanti Harris- go to Rivals and read the last couple articles about him. Dudes a baller. 32 pts and 25 rebs against future Florida big man and qnother double double up against Greg Monroe. But also in the articles, slim slim chance to qualify.

But, like I've already said, these probably are nohing but umors. I havent heard anything about it. I would happily be wrong if it was one of those two.

Hell Favors is a reach, no question there. But Reik has no interest in UT.

Dude, we're just dreaming. The original poster essentially said, "This rumor is going around. I doubt it is true, but it's fun to think about (dream)." And, some of us agree and are now dreaming. :snoring::thumbsup:

Someone started this thread apparently out of boredom and got 4+ pages out of it and is probably laughing.

A Kentucky fan most likely. :eek:lol:

Name 2 guys that we will get next year that are better than Harris (assuming two of Tyler/Chism/Hopson leave).

Leslie McDonald, Jon Hood, Dominic Cheek, Lance Stephenson. Granted, Stephenson and Cheek are not exactly sure things. But we need another PG, so if we don't get Cheek, we would need to try to use a scholly to get a PG.

Cheek & Stephenson we have about .005% of a chance at. McDonald is a given but don't have a tremendously awesome shot right now. We are in it but would be surprised to see him come here.

You wouldn't really take Hood over Harris would you?

Coming into the event, the 6-foot-9 big man wasn't thought to be a guy to watch. He changed that perception quickly. Paired against two of the top big men in the entire tournament field, Harris had two of the best games of anyone all week long. Harris scored 32 points (11-20 FG, 10-12 FT) and grabbed 25 rebounds against Eloy Vargas. The next night, he was paired against Greg Monroe, Harris went for 28 points (10-13 FG, 8-11 FT) and 12 rebounds. The Mississippi native did his best work in the second half against Monroe, scoring 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the final 16 minutes of action.
Perhaps the beauty of Harris's game was his understanding of who he is as a player. Harris knew his strength was his strength inside and never stepped away from the paint and dominated around the basket.
Without sounding too sensational, Harris was playing like a guy that could very well suit up in the McDonald's All-American game. Will that happen? Probably not. The process and politicking for that started nearly two years ago. His next stop will likely be a junior college or prep school. When he gets to the Division I level, watch out. The big man will be hungrier than ever.
Stat line: 22.3 points per game (5th overall), 15.5 rebounds per game (1st overall), 3 blocks per game (1st overall)
Hood will be a fine CBB player but Harris is a stud. He was dominant against two top 26 players (Monroe top 10). Vargas is also committed to UF.

I agree with you when you say we have .005% chane at stephenson. But cheek mentioned he wanted to see more of us in an article today. So i wouldn't completely count as out. I haven't heard stephenson really mention us at all.

Well me might have a little bit more of a chance with Cheek but no way will we get both Cheek and McDonald and a good chance we will get neither. No shot at Stephenson. Do you really think Hood is a better player than Harris is?

I'm not necassarily saying that he's better. But hood would be essential if we miss on mcdonald. Hopson is one and done or two years max. Harris is less of a need than a SG or PG. Kenny hall is a going to a be a good player for us at PF.

The thing that worries me about hood is that he broke his wrist. With him being a solid shooter, i wonder how that affects his stroke.

We will most likely have 2 more scholly's next year and if someone like Harris wants to commit you take him and don't think twice about it (especially if it is both Tyler and Wayne that leave). Hood isn't essential if we miss on McDonald either. You can find solid scorers all across the country. It is harder to find dominant big men like Harris will be. Harris is an absolute stud.
