Running list of Tennessee targets planned commitment dates

With Morris seemingly fading, I wonder if we push harder for Shekai Mills-Knight. Does he have a commitment date?

I’ll let you answer that one for yourself but it’s the most obvious answer and it isn’t one of the two singular options you listed.
I'm genuinely curious, who sets a player's value? Or at least, who, on our side of the equation, decides what a player is worth. I'm guessing a player thinks he's worth X amount of dollars, but that doesn't mean we agree they're worth that amount. So who makes the decision from our side? I'm not trying to be a smartass, or difficult, I'm just curious how it actually works.

As for Morris, flipping him would be nice, but if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. I do think we need a second dynamic RB in this class, JMO of course, but it doesn't have to be Morris. There are other options out there, and there will potentially be more reveal themselves as the high school season starts and progresses.

The market is correcting itself on all positions for HS players and to a lesser degree the portal. Collectives are sharing more and more info about how they value players so that no one is getting taken for a ride. For the most part that is keeping everyone within a ballpark on NIL packages. Our staff values Rb position less than the average P4. So for example last year when Judkins was on the market and he was putting out feelers wanting 800k-1 million we would never get involved in that even if the off the field stuff with him wasn’t a factor.

To answer your question, the staff is making those final decisions on who is worth what. And a lot of it depends on who is currently on the roster and what are they getting. If Sampson is getting 300k (I’m just spitballing, and Seldon and Lewis are getting something less, then they aren’t going to go out and do something crazy just to take a guy they don’t feel like is a must and upset the apple cart. They feel like they’ve gotten good production on the ground by playing moneyball with RB. I wouldn’t expect that to change until the results aren’t there. Kind of like OL over the last few cycles. Got burned in the summer of 2022 on class of 2023 OL by not being more aggressive with NIL and have since pivoted away from that philosophy which has led to us being more of a factor.

I think it was implied that it is a team effort.

Is it set in stone that next season the scholarships will rise to 105? If it is, shouldn't we be recruiting toward that number? Honestly, I'm confused as to whether or not the talked about changes to the numbers is happening or not.

There is a chance some schools may challenge that in courts. I also don’t think anyone that has a somewhat healthy roster is going to to try to sign 40 hs freshmen. It will give us more flexibility in the portal to add a few there and maybe some jucos. I think most will struggle to find 105 scholarship worthy kids who are willing to sit that far down a depth chart. I could see us converting some of our current walk ons over to partial and full scholarship players as well

The judge still has not approved it and is not expected to until early 2025. Lot of speculation that if it is approved, lawyers are going to be lined up to challenge the limits that are outlined. Too much in the air to plan at this point.

Alright everyone help me fill this in and we can track how we do during this crucial stretch!!! GBO
Why is Kaleb Beasley listed in the 2023 class?

I used to keep it chronologically in calendar year, someone suggested for 2026 class I go ahead and start its own list.
Do you know who else in the current class we're talking to, other than Sanders and Konanbunny? We still talking to some of those guys who committed elsewhere earlier in the process? We have to be working more than just two guys in this class, right?

Harmon - LB commit for Bama
Gibson - DL commit for UGA (extreme long shot)
Andrew Maddox - DL commit for Ole Miss
Morris - RB commit for USC

Are only ones I’ve heard recently.

Who are we getting today? And if nobody is lined up to commit within 24 hours of the last commit then obvioulsy that mean Heupel can't recruit. <<<<blue font
