This is my biggest concern going into this game if I am being completely honest. We need Worley for SEC play and to get to 6 wins. Without him there is not 6 wins on the schedule imo.
How many sacks will we have? I am thinking its going to be "snap the ball and run for your life" for Worley. If they get behind early they may not end up rushing for 50 yards.
Our line is terrible right now. They're young and will improve but asking for a good running performance out of either of the RBs with this line is a tall order. I think they will do some things to try to get Hurd in space this weekend though.
Im not being negative, just being realistic, but if our line can't get a pusb against USU and Arkansas state, I dont see them pushing around Oklahoma. I predict 60 yards rushing. Lets just hope Worley doesnt get killed this weekend
It's not just the front 4, the entire front 7 is one of the best in the country. Even if we block the linemen, their linebackers will clean up. It will be tough sledding running the ball. As worried as I am about us not being able to run, I am more worried about their quarterback running all over us.
we have pretty good edge rushers and blitz from about everywhere.
we usually give up a few runs a game because we have young lb that dont get in the exact run fit every play but are getting better. one thing we didnt have at bama was our 6-6 330 lb ng who had back surgery after nd last year. very athletic for his size.
we replaced ol/dl coaches who are now in their 3rd year. technique made a difference right away but we didnt have the size we needed to run the defense in year one. weve gotten better and bigger this year
looking forward to a great game. not all are expecting a blowout. if we dont come with a lot of intensity and match the physicality every game we can get whupped, see texas game last year.
we have a lot of recruits in for this game as its our biggest ooc. alt unis for the first time too. i think we will be jacked up. hope all visiting will have fun in norman. stop by a tailgate if you get the chance
