Curious to see how they'll do. As of three weeks ago, they hadn't even submitted a zoning change as they were apparently on agricultural land - even though the land was owned by the founder of the Academy. Also these guys don't even have a school. Just some mobile structures they are using as classrooms. It sounds like the work is primarily done online and the school is currently seeking accreditation (lol). Tuition said to be around 7.5k/yr - compare to IMG's 75+k (most are on scholarship I think).
The founder hasn't specified where the money comes from but given it's all being filmed, I think it's safe they're got a nice TV contract on their hands. There are plenty of big time CFB programs interested in this model as well so investors are there, especially those in-state and in neighboring states.
I kind of hope this thing works. People are gonna love to hate this "academy" and I'm sure it's gonna create for some interesting drama... maybe even some good TV.
