Tennessee rushing yards total : 43

Lots of tackles for a loss, a few sacks on Worley and UT abandons the ground game and is forced to start passing early in the game.

Not many if we don't find a passing game. WKU stopped our run game in the 1st Half with numbers as Worley was killing gophers and there was no pass. In the 2nd, he found his arm and then WKU had to play off the LOS and we started tearing them apart. Florida has more talent and can just load 8 in the box and stop us. I think I counted as many as 9 or 10 in the box for WKU.

If we don't find a passing game or some way to force them to stretch out and defend more than a 10x10 yard square... we won't move the ball at all.

with our offense for ages. We don't use enough of the field. We run the ball and we pass the ball 15-20 yard down the field--and it is usually obvious when we are doing one or the other. This offense has the potential to be more creative if we start using the slot receiver and TE more. Put Croom at TE and throw it to him--that's my suggestion.

Maybe I'm mentally retarded but I don't see how UT's rushing performance under Dooley with Chaney as OC much less Kiffin with Chaney as OC and certainly not Fulmer with Clawson and then Sanders as OC will have any impact on this Saturday.

Am I missing something or have people not realized we have a different OC... not to mention completely different offensive scheme and blocking scheme.

Is there a handicap for previous years performances? I must be missing something.

I think that personnel also plays a significant role. And I'm stating the obvious: quite a bit of the personnel hasn't turned over from last year and even several years past. How much impact did our current OL starters and starting running backs have on the numbers for the last two years?

So if our OL in 2011 (which were mostly the same line minus Tiny) was ahead of Poole/Lane and they rushed for 27 yards on 14 carries... you're saying outright that our line hasn't gotten any better as well as saying Neal/Lane aren't better than Poole/Lane. I don't think either tandem is ideal but certainly Neal/Lane are better in my book.

You can't fault the OL for not putting up rushing numbers when the OC usually only called a running play as a concession to fight for a better spot to punt from on a 3rd down.

5 of those 14 rushes were in our first possession.

What they should do is exactly what the 1995 Vols did on the first play of the game in the Alabama game. Throw a bomb for a huge play or TD and back off the defence and keep them guessing. They can then run. That will be the easiest way to go. If they, mainly Worley or whoever the QB is, can do that they will run for close to 200 yards. Wonder how Robert Gillespie is feeling on this week considering he played on the other side in college.
