We didn't have to have a Waltz or Mulkey but d@mn could we have gotten a coach even at the mid major level that was taking their team to 26-4 like records over multiple years. Lots of them out there. That appears closer to excellence than one surprising tourney run to the Sweet 16.

Good luck to her if she is the hire but dang.

If you are referring to the 3rd world fundamentals left as a result of Warlick's coaching then I agree. It will take a year. But again, talent alone should get her a 11 or 12 seed in the tourney like Warlick.

Lmfao y'all can't be serious. If the new hire can't get us substantially better in a season (barring a mass exodus of the roster) then the hire absolutely, positively, without a doubt is the wrong one.

Is this how far we've fallen? JFC.

I agree but I'm giving some leeway to players that appeared clueless and don't know what playing hard necessarily meant.

It's possible that Kellie is indeed the hire and that the announcement has been delayed in order to give the Harpers a chance to break the news to their team and say goodbye. If this is truly the case, I'm sure a lot of tears were shed on both sides. Evidently, Kellue and this team were really close, and the players will be heartbroken to lose her.

The Lady Bears are quality kids. They are fighters with no quit in them. Whether the Harpers just recruited players with great values or helped instll those qualities, those kids are a credit to their university and their coaches. They're going to be okay if the news is true (they return almost everyone and have another good incoming class), but this will sting.

We would be very fortunate indeed to have a team that plays as hard and with as much passion as MO State.

She has HC experience. The NC State tenure concerns me but one always learns more from failure than success. I would think that that experience made her a better coach. She had pretty good success with kids that are not nearly the quality she will have at UT. She is going from a nice Buick to a Maserati.
She knows what she is walking into and still had the confidence to pursue it. This is a high profile, high pressure situation and she is ready to go. I always felt Holly’s lack of self confidence spread to the team.
She is very bright. Like 4.0 bright. This should mean better communication skills, player development, game planning and in game adjustments. Honestly, not to pile on but, if I never hear the word “solid” or “I don’t know” in a press conference again I will be a happy camper.
Finally, I wanted a guard centric HC. She could do amazing things with Westbrook, Zay and Horston. If she can get them to her level as player we would be a real FF threat.
I would have been good with Kara or Ivey as well.
I know a lot of folks on here wanted Walz but frankly he always struck me as a complete jack wagon.
So, if it is Kellie welcome home! I am ready for a fresh start! I want to watch the LVs with a sense of anticipation not dread. I want to see one, maybe two actual offenses. I want to see the LVs look like they are having fun!!!!

Jeff Walz would have been an A+ hire. KJH was the expected hire. I’ll be pulling for the Vols regardless of who the coach is.

Walz cooked his goose when he and Freese was tampering and Vic is not going anywhere until he goes back to Texas AM where he is from the area. Since you know that neither were called then either of both may have let it be known they were satisfied there. Both of those would be a home run hire but its like getting married … takes two to tango. Anyone with one eye and half sense should know that a man was not getting hired period. Actually 2 men were my first choice as well but Kellie fit the bill I guess so it is what it is once it is announced.

Do you have proof of that? If so then stop that BS. Like I said today many other programs say the same about us. Do you even remotely think our hands are squeaky clean? Come on man.

Again I am not guessing. Might be hard for some to believe, but when you get good info,then you want to shoot the messenger cause our beloved AD botched this hire by being cheap and controlled by the blue hairs.
