So will the economic sanctions on Russia impact our economy? I read last night Wall Street was expecting a large hit this week.

I'm not sure. One would think it would. My understanding is Russia needs oil to sell at 90.00 a barrel to stay solvent. ( I've seen some numbers suggest its 118.00 a barrel)

Putin isn't worried about sanctions though.

Oil and gas are already rising. And the Dow dipped yesterday. Probably more to come.

I can't hyperlink for some reason but I just read an article saying the market bounced back. WSJ. The URL is in my last post

Yes it has bounced back today, but it's way to early to assume that's it.

So what good does putting sanctions on Russia really do for us of it tanks out own economy?

It does absolutely no good. It's a waste of time. Putin is already threatening to stop using the dollar as a reserve currency. That happens and other country's follow suit, it's game on for our country.

Was thinking something similar last night. Someone on Fox was discussing the option of going after the Ruble hard as a means of "punishment." And all I was thinking was "perhaps not such a good idea considering our own dollar could get trounced in the same process if debtors come back asking for payment."

Sounds like things are getting more dicey by the day. So does everybody still think there is a zero chance of violence between us and Russia?

I hope Putin does this. The best thing that could happen for me personally is stock prices plunging. I'd be able to buy in cheaper.

We know the location of every Russian surface ship at all times. We also know the location of all Russian nuke subs practically at all times. Subs go undetected for very short periods (hours not days).

the other part of that is,they know all of ours

I won't say there isn't a chance of that because one can never know for certain, but I'm willing to say that a shooting war is probably a .1% chance of happening.

We wont shoot at the Russians. We'll play the trade game, & hopefully we wont lose our asses doing just that. Our grandkids will read about it and they'll understand it all better then than any of us will ever while actually living it.

So you're saying there is a chance?

Lol. I agree. Putin could wake up one morning wanting to be king and bomb the hell outta Europe. Who knows.
