Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room; they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers.”

Have we reached the apex of helmet safety and that's why Nike cares more about chroming them out?

I think they're great looking uniforms aside from the helmets, really.

I'd like to see how big Nike's design team is vs the team responsible for maintaining the safety of the people who wear them.

Not trying to stand on the soap box or anything, but I'd take safety over fashion any day.

All of these people in here talking about Rutgers and their lack of tradition: Wasn't Rutgers one of the first CFB teams?

Not trying to get flamed for this one, and our success is far greater than theirs no doubt, but I'd say that they could definitely claim tradition.

Edit: "The 1869 game between Rutgers and Princeton is important in that it is the first documented game of something called intercollegiate "football" ever played between two American colleges, and because of this, Rutgers refers to itself as The Birthplace of College Football."

Just because they've been playing for a long time doesn't mean they have some kind of tradition. My first post was kind of implying someone would find a tradition for Rutgers to piss on, even tough their only tradition seems to be losing.

It means that they have a tradition of playing football...

Sort of. It was a weird mixture of rugby, soccer and football. There weren't any down and distance, carrying or throwing the ball, touchdowns, etc. There were something like 25 guys on the field per team. Football didn't become "football" until 1890-ish.
