If someone can, post this audio on this. Unfricking believable.

I hope this cop has his sorry arse fired and sued. Acutally I hope that is the best that happens to him, I'd be fine if worse happened.

Seriously unbelievable. And the cop tried to keep his wife there too with her mother dying inside that ER. They were RIGHT THERE! There was no possible perceived risk (that I could see) to that officer.

On a side note, apparently people were able to find his home address, e-mail and other means of reciprocating harassment.

The length that he went to for such an asinine reason, even after nurses and officers from various departments attempted to intervene, is unbelievable.

Can't get the vid at work,.....sounds pathetic. Was the cop white? I feel for the family, sad story.

It's not that unbelievable. Most cops are on a constant power trip.

While i hate both Sharpton and Jackson, this cop has serious issues. Hopefully someone locks him in a closet while someone he cares about is about to die.

Sad.

If anyone thinks that that is atypical behavior for a cop.I have news for you. Some cops, not all have that superior, antagonistic, thirst for power and control. That when it comes to common sense, they just do not get it.

:bad:

As unbelievable as it is the guy probably won't get fired. I have been in this position many times and as a (personal) rule I always escorted them to the hospital and checked on their story. You would not believe that people will actually lie about a tragedy to get out of a ticket. Which common sense wise should have happened here but didn't. Its obvious that the young officer had a chip on his shoulder from the get go. But technically speaking Moats ran a light and was cited. If they fire the guy it will be for some other reason if not he will have a heck of a suit. You can't always go by the book. Another rule of mine is sometimes doing the right thing, aint always doing the right thing.

Cops are people too. Some are a-holes and some are practical. Wish they were all like you CD.

Well, I don't like the a-holes either! I'm sure I have pissed more than one person off but back in the day I didn't write tickets...the violators did! The excuses are actually comical but its usually the delivery that either got them in or out of it!

I am sure there are a lot of people that do that and I understand that he ran a red light but instead of the cop being a jerk he could have been a little more considerate. There have been a couple of times we have had to get to the hospital in an emergency but we have always put on our flashers.

You're right but we've all pissed people off. There is a line though. And that guy crossed it.

Yeah he did but whats the Chief gonna do? He has already said the only thing the guy did wrong was not use common sense. Which is kind of funny because alot of admins want robots. I have seen quite a few written up and even let go for not going by the book or the letter of the law but used common sense. This guy imo crossed the line and the resulting investigation will be very interesting. It could also set a precedent.

Moats showed unbelievable composure. That cop is a legitimate retard and should most certainly be fired. "Don't make me screw you over". Repeatedly telling the guy to shut up. An absolute piece of garbage. People that stupid should not be getting paid to walk around with a firearm.

Yes I have and I would like to commend Moats for the way he handled the situation. If not for his demeanor that thing could have gotten real ugly, real quick!

The condemning fact for the Officer is the fact that nurses came out from the hospital twice and another Plano Officer basically told him he was taking it too far.

Also, threatening someone with jail over running a red light? That seems like the officer wasn't in control of the situation.

Considering the proof of attempted cover ups/abuse by PDs that have come out in the last year or 2, this could cause huge rifts in public trust and support of public servants. These situations are going to be in the back of a lot of people's minds regardless of comparability.

I'm more scared of the laws he's sworn to protect and uphold being abused than I am of his firearm.

Given his complete lack of common sense and his infantile reasoning skills along with him being a law enforcement officer gives people in that area plenty of reason to be concerned that he is allowed to walk around with a gun.
