Regretably, I have seen more than one of those types during my career. They usually don't last very long in the business and most of them find themselves behind bars.

I am in no way defending the actions of the officer when I say this, so don't jump me.

But a cop who performs his job well (and I know some, and detectives too) deserves way more respect than they get. The trouble is, it can be hard to tell the difference sometimes and something like this reflects on all of them.

I got my first speeding ticket ever about 2 weeks ago. I tried to tell the officer that I was Michael Porter and that I was late for practice.....

I've had one very bad experience firsthand from these sorts. I've had a complete distrust for law enforcement officers since. I believe the good ones are the exception, not the rule. I could be wrong but that is how I honestly feel.

in my opinion the cop should be canned, but somehow i'm sure the law will protect him and he will get a slap on the wrist. that is how the system works.
