Sorry rest of the SEC (well not really), but it looks like you're in for a few more years of misery.

University of Alabama coach Nick Saban's contract was extended by two years Monday by the Compensation Committee of the University of Alabama Board of Trustees, along with contract amendments for most of his assistants. The unanimously approved measures set Saban's talent fee at $5.07 million for 2012, with incremental increases up to $5.72 million in the final year of the contract in 2019.

Doesn't list the bonus structure, but I'm sure there's some cheese available for some more crystal.

Alabama will have a new coach by 2015, if not sooner. Guarantee it.

I'm afraid I'm going to be in misery the next few seasons regardless of who is at Alabama.

That contract is chump change compared to the 10million Texas will offer him once they end up running Mack Brown out for mediocrity. Don't say you weren't warned

Somebody thought a minor extension to Saban's contract was threadworthy on a UT board?

oooooooh, bama fan. That makes sense.

I think this is a poor attempt from Bama to try and keep Saban there longer. If another school offers him more money... he will be gone. Saban has already shown he has no loyality to any school

He'll be making close to 6 million per year. Who is going to offer him more money (keep in mind, he's 60 years old)? And even if another school offers him more money, do you honestly think that Alabama wouldn't match it?

Texas IMO.

They may try to match it who knows. The fact that he is 60 doesn't matter. He could coach another ten years easy (if he stays healthy).

My point is Saban has no loyality to anywhere so don't think if someone comes calling with larger money and Bama doesn't match it that he won't be gone
