Saban on Butch

You people make me sick.

Only good thing about the offseason is you have time to make all the orange rangers vomit on their keyboards by talking up opposing coaches. God I miss Urban and Tebow.

I doubt Saban has ever paid his wife or mother a compliment, much less a rival coach. Pride cometh before a fall...Saban will fall hard (even if it isn't that far to the ground for him!)

Saban would never say something this....he's too busy wondering how to get another raise for loosing games....Once FLA is done with Muschamp, then 1 Finebaumish rumor gets Saban another couple mil from the imbreds.

NOOOOOWWWWWW the kitten scenario makes sense. Satan wanted to be able to keep up on recruiting. I suspect kitten will be doing a lot of the recruiting work for satan.

As funny as that is, its really not coach speak. DD did a fantastic job of giving Bama one pushover every year, open the doors to to the state for Bama recruiting, not challange Bama for any recruits on a national stage.
Just like I always thought Ray Goff was the best coach UGA ever had.

Ray Goff was a helluva recruiter. He should have been the Zook GA.

I hope the Bama recruits families ask Kiffin about his coaching experience.

@vol_athletics: "What Butch Jones is doing up at Tennessee, I've never seen anything like it. His recruiting is unprecedented. Just phenomenal." -Nick Saban

Subliminal message………i'm still gonna kick his ass….. for right now . Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer. Butch hasn't accidentally bumped into a 5* recruit…so far. Remember the saban rule ?

Are there actually folks in this thread who think Saban really said this?

No (hopefully not)
The only time Saban has gone out of his way to say something positive about another coach is when it's a about a coach he has mentored....that has given great servitude.

I call BS on this one. Lincoln was too busy with the Vietnam war to bother with the internet.

I don't think Lincoln was all that involved in the Vietnam War as he established the Navy SEALs and had a vision for a counter insurgency with Special forces....Now Pres (Andrew) Johnson - he was too busy with Vietnam as he escalated the conflict and sent in ground troops. As this is a Tennessee forum, I thought the history would have been gotten right on this one.

I believe that that comment is just coaches speak. I recall that Saban spoke highly about Dooley and how Dooley would turn the Tennessee program around.

I am quiet sure Saban could evaluate Dooley enough to know that he would not be a major success at Tennessee but for the media he said all of the right things.

Can't really tell what his true thougths are or what is just coaches speak....
