Saban to possibly be WVU advisor

Voices in your head telling you things?
It's his home he is there way more than you think lately, especially in Morgantown. This has way more validity than "GRUMORS" he wants nothing more than to go back home, he went out with governor yesterday and then morgantown, this isn't a paid position, saban is still literally at Bama "coaching"

So like a reverse Bobbie Bowden scenario?

I was born in Parkersburg.

High school team there is more dominant than Bama lol. Best pizza in the world at Pizza Place.

No. It's exactly like GRUMORS. Don't kid yourself. He wants to work again in college footbal, unpaid and not being the boss, for free? On top of that live in WVA. When you have the funds to live anywhere.

Sounds like Saban maybe missing coaching, that is my only thought.

Boy would this set off the Bammers if he took another coaching job.
Nick Saban misses being in charge. You can see it in his posture on GameDay at times. He wants to tell people to shut up and let's talk football.

What he's NOT going to do is take a job in football where he's not the boss and not just because of his ego.

Having Saban coaching below someone would be like having Einstein "helping out" a grad assistant teaching a calculus class. Whether he wants to be or not, Nick Saban is actually the elephant on the practice field or in any coaching room. He overshadows any college coach just walking in the door.

Sad thing is that Saban has made GameDay watchable again. I feel like him and to a lot smaller degree, Herbstreit, are the only people on game day that even have a decent understanding and take on the sport. ESPN, when it comes to quality of knowledge of the sport, has declined significantly. Perhaps get some of the SEC GameDay analysist like Booger McFarlin on there.

Pat McAfee basically knows 0 about college football and is there to just be entertainment (kind of like Corso). We don't really need 2 Corsos lol...

Exactly right. He’s going to enjoy retirement, float between the set of ESPN Game Day and Tuscaloosa during the football season. Then he’s going to enjoy his house on Lake Burton in GA and his big ole house in FLA the rest of the year. No way he takes an assistant or advisory job. Not his style.

Saban on any college football telecast, if he's engaged, is going to an asset. He's lived the game 24/7 for decades. I even enjoyed Miss Terry, who likely knows more about college ball than McAfee.

If they could get Urban from Fox to spar with Saban at the table and do joint analysis with him at the playboard, GameDay would be a lot of fun and informative.

I don't see how Saban keeps from telling McAfee to "Kiss my *** and shut up" about 20 times per broadcast.

Looks like we're all worried about a NEER DYNASTY forming!!! I'm kidding all along guys, we won't fire Coach Brown for another 2 years, despite all these hilarious quotes below. Did you guys know our HC put the program in a dumpster fire and trolls the fanbase 100 times more than Kiffin did? Look into him! It's comical! You thought Butch Jones champions of life was bad? I was the only fan in my section besides literally 5 counted people in 3Q vs KSU

-He said he's glad there's not a home game for a month, that they need a break from home games, and then he needs a rest from the fans with a 800 word essay (no, seriously he wrote an essay)

-He got caught on a hot mic asking what the deal even is with the backyard brawl and what does it matter? (Imagine heupel saying this about bama)

-After losing every single game that remotely matters he said, "I get that they want to win, but I would say is did they have a good time? Did they enjoy it? It was a pretty good atmosphere. I’m assuming they had a pretty good time tailgating, so if they are in the deal for enjoyment then I would come back"

Another:
-“I get that they want to win. But what I would say is, did they have a good time? Did they enjoy it? It was a pretty good atmosphere. I’m assuming they had a pretty good time tailgating, so if they’re in the deal for enjoyment then I would come back. I looked at the weather and it’s going to be nice again. It’s a night game. And we need them to provide a home-field advantage.

-He said "are you not entertained?" After a loss

-He said football isn't the end of the world and there is much worse going on in the world

-He typed an 800 word essay about how negative fans are LOL

-He said the coalout (jerseys) are cool and that's huge!

-The president, his buddy, said after going 5-7: "the schedule is the toughest" in all of college football. The fact that we’ve gone 5-7 in a very competitive environment is something I take a lot of pride in, because given everything, we played rather well

-He said there's nothing to worry about they only lost to undefeated teams! In like week 4.

There are probably a DOZEN more. These are from like 6 weeks of football, not even including last year.

Another
-"The team needs a break"

Another
-"We will build a successful program here! It doesn’t look like it right now, but we will absolutely be successful here!"

-"Plans to fly a plane with a banner calling for WVU to fire Neal Brown have been temporarily grounded, organizers say."

Another one:
-"like, if you're a cardiologist...I can imagine that's pressure. You twitch the wrong way and that's it. If you're in the armed forces...that's real pressure. You're dealing with life and death. Like, this is football, man. It matters. It matters, but there's a lot of other people dealing with a lot harder things than what we're dealing with."

Another one
-“You are what you are. Our personnel is our personnel. We’ve got to play better, we’ve got to coach them better. But it’s not like we’ve got people waiting in the bullpen.” (his entire roster is his guys)

I'm convinced if this was at UT, someone would have assassinated the guy.

he practically worships his home state and it is damn near the best place ever to retire unless you are in your 60s and need to be surrounded by people and concrete, many love moving here for that, living it easy after rat racing

That would be the only place and it makes sense. Anywhere else, I seriously doubt it.
It has more credit than cheerleader wife and a plane ride that resulted in a thread with 500 pages of replies
He was just seen meeting with AD Wren Baker I mean he grew up a diehard wvu fan and was an assistant there already before it's not some mathematically impossible reach I can't read his mind on how he wants to live the rest of his life but his entire family lives there. Nick saban and his hs wr Tom Hulderman who lives there, saban nicknames him "brother", and also manchin, the senator, are very very close, the former his seriously best friend of 55 years. He's obviously also friends with pat McAfee who is the biggest wvu donor

He wanted nothing more in life than to be qb of wvu and he wasn't selected due to being small and under weight. His only team he wanted to play for. Saban was offered the Alabama job because fellow West Virginia native Rich Rodriguez had turned it down to remain head football coach at West Virginia University.

Did he ever say this about Bama or LSU or kent state?
“I’m a Mountaineer at heart and I’m all for the Mountaineers and I always root for the Mountaineers." Again he grew up a MFL going to every Backyard Brawl

He probably rooted for WVU when he coached Bama against them it was the 2nd closest win they had that yr, if not he absolutely coached them to easy off as much as possibly without losing, literally played it at the Georgia Dome. Nick Saban Sr. Memorial Field was there a long time
