B...... S......

I hope you're watching the Mizzou game tonite and I hope you heard Herbstreit say that Mizzou " has one of the most physically talented defenses in the country" .... have you, even for a second, entertained the idea that you're wrong about the crazy claim that UT is more talented than Mizzou? You seem like a bright guy.... how come you can't see what literally every other human watching these 2 teams sees and proclaims? I know, Herbstreit is stupid and we should be playing in the SECCG before Mizzou if Jones could just develop the incredible championship caliber talent he has on the team.

Go ahead, break down this post sentence by sentence telling me how wrong I am in approximately 4,000 words.

Sec east champ has less talent and speed than UT. Just a coaching difference. That was a 2 week argument. Insanity

That 2 week argument is still alive and well and living through the exhaustive posts of sjt18. Wait and see.

No what I'm saying is, even the few highly rated players we have aren't worth a crap and it would suck to be a coordinator with these players. Hope this cleared it up for ya.

So it's OK to say the players are not worth a crap but heaven forbid someone dare question the coaches.

I challenge you to name 3 other True freshmen D linemen that have made a difference in the SEC. There are always exceptions , however , I don't think we have any Carl Lawson's committed for next year ( yet)

Robert Nkemdiche is another. We may or may not have stud freshman coming in. The fact is nobody knows. Look at Sutton, nobody could have known he was going to be this good. We could have a Carl Lawson coming in, who knows?

We could also have the injured guy...Saulsbury?...back full speed. That will help at least.

I really don't feel like the OP's comment was all that negative. It is sad that our Senior, Starting DE only registered 1 sack in an entire season of starting. I'm all VOL and I appreciate JS wearing the Orange for UT but our team needs more production on the field from a starter.

I'm ready for team 118 to hit the field and help change our losing ways!

I didn't say you couldn't question the coaches, I simply said most of the issues we have are due to the lack of skilled players.

The coaches have made plenty of mistakes too. I realize that and I've said it in the past.

I can't list all the issues this team has in every post. Some of you get upset if the issue you have with the team isn't mentioned. Way to sensitive up in this b- acth!

Underwhelming career or not, I was extremely happy to see Smith go out with a big game.

Happy for all of these seniors to go out with a win though.

I can't recall a class going through as much BS as the seniors did.

The response wasn't meant just for you but you referred to our Vol players as "crap" which I find offensive. Your self stated reason for starting this thread was to give the coaches an excuse for the lackluster play. I point this out and you refer to me as a "sensative biatch"? Ok.

I honestly wasn't referring to you directly , just the overall sensitivity around here anytime someone says anything remotely negative no matter how true it may be.

I'm not giving the coaches an excuse for their mistakes. I'm basically giving them a pass for this seasons results because of the lack of talent on the team. I'm aware of the need for improvement from the staff and the players. I just have a hard time believing any coach would have been much more successful with this group of players. There may be a couple coaches out there who might have found a way to stay closer in a few games and may have even pulled out a better record than BJ but I will take my lumps with BJ and his chosen staff leading the way. I haven't been totally happy with everything this staff has done or not done but there isn't a staff in this country that's gonna please any of us 100%.

You and I are very close in our opinion. I thought the team slightly underachieved in the win/loss column. I thought the coaches showed some of their inexperience this year. I thought we should have beaten Vandy but we probably shouldn't have beaten SC either. Hopefully, we'll see improvements in all aspects (player development, talent through recruiting, and scheme) for next year.

Then you must be a pretty smart fella. :)

Our 5 star senior defensive end got his first sack of the season tonight. I've watched him all night long and it's really sad.

Butch Jones told us before the season started that our defense was going to be pathetic when he said we would be as good as McCullers.

You can scheme till your blue in the face but until you have some players that can win some one on one match ups, your defense is gonna suck.

For the first time in a while we are going to get better by attrition.

Bottom line is....

We need players!

I doubt it. If that were the case then the backups would have been playing more. I certainly hope you aren't expecting all of the incoming freshman to be better, but I wouldn't be surprised. Most people on here think that.
