Sam Montgomery Cuts List to Three

Defensive end Sam Montgomery of Greenwood (SC) cut three more schools from his list Monday night leaving him with a final three. According to his mother, Clemson and Michigan are no longer under consideration. Mrs. Montgomery said she's not been able to reach the recruiter from the third school and would not say which school that is. So, South Carolina, North Carolina, LSU and Tennessee, at least publicly, are still on the list. (Palmetto Sports)

Did you guys totally miss my post? USC is out it's down to us, LSU, or UNC. The article Rex posted was the same one Freak linked to last night.

Auburn isn't even in the top 30 for Sam...but that would be funny if he did go to the barn. I would eat my hat.

EDIT: Sorry. Didn't realize it was a pay article. Sounded like an LSU homer to me though.

Why is he driving to Charlotte to announce? How far is Chapel Hill from Charlotte? I don't like the sound of this.

I am pretty sure ESPN has an office in Charlotte as well which would be the closest to him.

GoVols, where is that article from? Its a little LSU-heavy towards the end IMO. Is it from a Louisiana-based source? That would explain it. Otherwise -could be bad.

Also, what does she consider when she says "he's planning to go where (he feels he'll) be most successful at'"? If she means a Nat Title then they're probably leaning towards LSU because of Les Miles recent success (not last year). If she means individual success, you gotta think that Ogeron and Monte would have a great chance of earning Sam's pick as the team that could prep him the best for the next level.

didn't say much about tennessee in the article.... good thing or bad thing??

Thanks a lot for the article gv87. :)

If he is wanting to go somewhere to make his self better & be able to reach great success the easy pick is Tennessee. No one in the country can touch the coaching & recruiting duo of Monte Kiffin & Ed Orgeron. Coming here will be his best chance of going pro IMO, but i think everyone knows that.

Tennstud over on scout said he heard from connected source we get Montgomery and Richardson but not Brown. We'll see how connected the connected really are.
