I said when the NCAA women's softball tourney started we should win the regional with ease, we barely squeaked by. I said we would beat GA in a real battle, we did. I said we would get to the WCWS and the pitchers would struggle and the hitting would suck as usual, I was spot on. The Weekly's have done a great job recruiting, but we will never win the WCWS with them as coaches. Tn is soft mentally and fundamentally when they have to face quality teams back to back. SAME OLE SAME OLE.

After the opening batter homered for the Ducks ... I thought the team (not all) gave up..... seemed to take the life out of them... first time I have seen this from this years team..... By the way I do not agree that the Weeklys are the problem... they are Lady Vols softball"

So the Weekly's lead the team to the WS on 5 occasions with a program and league that had no tradition (having never won it all); and they get jabbed for it. Do you not think they know what their team weaknesses are? Do you not think they have tried to recruit more power players, but they are having to recruit them in from accross the country. Geez, Louise. Get a grip. They got all they could get out of the talent they have. Congrats on a good season, LV's.

Going to 5 ws seems to speek very well of the Weeklys. Gees I can't believe the post of some fans.

We do look soft. All the other teams seem like the have fight and grit and a meanness about them, UT just looks like a bunch of prissy girls.

I'll never forget the image of Ralph Weekly closing his eyes because he couldn't bear to watch when we were a sac fly away from a national title in 2007. They're doing a great job, but that moment concerned me. In the biggest moment in program history, one of the coaches was hiding in the dugout.

This was actually the first time the LVs lost their first WCWS game. They made it to at least Sunday each other trip.

I remember this as well. The Weeklys have done a fantastic job and I hope they continue to do well for many years as well but that was troubling. That kind of nervousness from a leader can spread to the entire team and it seemed like it did at that moment.

Wow how fast you forget that just 2 years ago the weeklys took a team that wasn't even supposed to make it to the WCWS & they finished 3rd...get a grip we finished 7th in the country out of 290 something teams...go be a fan of another team somewhere else

Our team will be back stronger next year. We may even be a favorite with what comes back along with the incoming freshmen.

I would like to see a more aggressive hitting coach take control of these girls. Way to passive in attacking the ball! My other thought was that some of these girls may lose their starting jobs because some of the talent is going to play that is coming in. A quick edit, thank you Ralph and Karen, you put on a quality show. Also thank you Lady Vols, as always, you are a class act.

Before you throw any more stones, what other Vol team has lately gone to a national final stage more times than than softball?

This is probably their worst coaching job, this team had potential to win it all, but this is their 5th WS trip, they took this program from bottom to top, anybody who thinks they can't get it done is an idiot

your statements contradict each other. no, they didn't have the potential to win it all. they just slap at the ball, no power at all. i think they had a good season, but nat champs ? no way

I love our Lady Vols, but we have some painful moments this year. The last two games were unbearable.

Ralph and Karen probably made some mistakes, but I did not see either one of them doing anything with a bat. Come to think of it, I didn't see anyone on our team doing much.

We need some people who can actually hit the ball out of the infield with authority, and our pitchers are great, but they do need an in-house psychologist.

I have to agree that our girls are just not as mentally tough as they need to be. They have given too easily this year. They may have wanted to win at OKC, but it was hard for me to see it. They played as if they expected to lose. That is unacceptable in any sport. Any play all out or don't get on the field.

I try to cool off and not be negative, but this was hard to take. I get some solace in the fact we did make it to the final eight out of around 290 teams, but we had the talent to do much better. In my opinion, we simply did not have the heart.
