We have had our share of coaching changes here in Gainsville as well.

demoting Sanders will not solve the problem and he is not the whole problem. I expect several more changes AFTER the season.

I agree.

Sander never had an opportunity to run the offense the way he wanted to according to the insiders on these boards. He ran the offense the way Fulmer wanted. All Fulmer could say was its not one persons fault.

I feel bad for sanders, he got villified for running Fulmers style offense we wont know what sanders woud have done with the offense if he was given a free hand.

Someone has to take the blame and the fans/boosters want changes.

Sanders was merely a puppet.

I guess some people like you think this is a great day. Well you are dead wrong because it is a sad day to think that a fine person like Coach Sanders could be basically driven out of a job he loves, away from a school he loves because of what it was doing to his family. Those idiotic ass holes who made ugly remarks to his wife either directly or indirectly should feel real proud. I'll like to follow some of those people around for a week at their professions to see how often they are screwing up. I'll bet most if not all aren't worth a sh*t at what they do and probably are complete failures. Well thank goodness Randy won't have to put up with your BS any more so who do you people turn your warped attention to now?

I don't know RS, and I'll take it on faith that he's a fine person. So am I. Should I be the OC at UT? Uh-uh. His character was never the problem in my view.

Anybody who made personal remarks to his family is trash, and they should take it as such.

If Sanders didn't go, then Fulmer probably would be feeling a lot more heat from the AD, fans, boosters, etc. Perhaps so much heat that he (Fulmer) might have been ran off. If that were to happen, Sanders and the entire freaking staff would be looking for a job at the end of the season. If Sanders is as brilliant as some people are suddenly claiming (including the sky-is-falling "oh my gosh, he's going to work for Spurrier" BS) then it will only be a matter of time before the rest of the staff is sent packing too. If that's the case, so be it. People lose their jobs every day, not because they suddenly became stupid... sometimes other factors come into play... deteriorating performance, deteriorating chemistry, staleness, etc... has doomed many employees and professionals. If RS is worth a crap, he'll find another OC job or maybe even better, and if Fulmer was responsible for holding RS's playcalling back, then RS might have just made a brilliant career move and he can go shine somewhere else. If he's not the brilliant OC, then he can get a job like the rest of us stiffs and start bashing the new OC on volnation.com I hate for anyone to lose their job, especially when it's not something that they're doing "wrong", but it doesn't matter how hard you work and how good of a person you are, if the results don't show what is expected, you can't be surprised when your bags get packed for you.

I wouldn't doubt it, but CPF needs to stay put.

I've said that the whole time during all this....He needs to stay where he's at because of what the man has done for our program...It wasn't in the gutter when he got it but it was definitely down just a little bit...I know he's not had the best of records as of late but that's just the way the cookie crumbles some times....I agree 100% that Fulmer needs to stay put though

Ok this might sound insensitive but dam people we are 107th in offense. I don't understand why all the bammer fans are so disgusted that we fired our OC. YES he is not the only problem. WE KNOW THAT. That's why at the end of the year both Jimmy Ray Stephens and the worst coach on the staff Pat Washington will both be gone. Larry Slade is retiring and will give us a chance to find a great DB coach to tutor the likes of D-Mo. We will also be hiring a full-time special teams coach. So that's most likely
A new OC
A new Defensive Backs Coach
A new Special Teams Coach
A new WR coach

Was Randy Sanders the only problem, no...Was he OC and therefore responsible in the eyes of most for the offensive woes, yes...No one deserves to be treated like he was, and he was made to be a scapegoat, but it's a fact of life. Just like in Pittsburgh when Tommy Maddox lost that game, his son went to school the next day and came home crying because they were mean to him. Is it right? No, but it is human nature and therefore is to be expected. TN has also offered to keep him on the staff at another position which he has refused, and has been working to get Randy Sanders a job as a HC at a smaller university in TN, but nobody wants to talk about that.

We need an OC that will stand up to CPF and run the offense the way it should be run. By the OC. The only time CPF really needs to come in is when there are major problems and he needs to make some player substitutions and pre-game analysis. The job of HC should not be as demanding at CPF makes it. He takes everything into his own hands... as I've heard. I'm not sure though... b/c I don't pay that much attention. I just read what you all say. ;)
