Satellite or Cable

Direct TV is very good.

Apply some Rain-X to the dish and it will stop the going out in bad weather that satellite tv is known for.

i hadn't heard that one,I may try that,I live in a hollar at the foot of the Clinch Mountain range and usually don't have much of a problem with the weather knocking out the satellite reception

if your having a lot of problems with it,you may need to realign your dish

the only time i have problems is when the really big thunderstorms roll threw and usually that doesn't last long,of course a broom helps when it snows :)

I don't think its too far off before HBO starts offering internet only subscriptions. Hopefully they upload the shows when they air instead of a day later.

Netflix still has plenty of Thomas the Train so we are good. :)

Dunno, I'd imagine the cable/satellite companies line HBOs pockets pretty heavily to keep them as a premium add on. I know a few people who are tipped into keeping TV service just to keep HBO (and don't have somebody else's log in and don't know how to torrent).

I've been sans-TV service since October now, and the only time it's even remotely an issue is for sporting events. I'd rather be at the bar for those anyhow.

Never heard that before gramps. Only issue I have had is in the snow. But will give this a shot. Just the spray on kind for windshields?

I bought a gallon jug of Rain-X 2-in- 1 All Season windshield washer fluid at Wal-Mart. Applied to the dish back in the fall and it is still working. We have had some heavy rains and 2-3 snows this winter and I haven't lost signal. Just apply to the dish itself, not the sensors.

I'm waiting for HBO to offer the subscription service without cable. Netflix is great but they lost Yo Gabba Gabba which sucks at my house. Thankfully I found some

Roku lists HBO Go as one of their channels, not sure if ygg is included in Go.

Thanks gramps. With spring coming and our heavy rains we get that time of year, I'm definitely going to give this a shot

I have it on Chromecast too but we still have to have an HBO subscription to access it. YGG is not on there but we're good on that. The internet is like a great junkyard if you know what you're looking for :)

I believe it's getting closer to reality as the roku/chromecast/smart tv's become commonplace. Wouldn't be surprised to see a major shift for premium channels in the near future
