Played Rob Base "It Takes Two" and that one hit wonder white rap group's song "Jump Around".

I'm 40 (insert I'm a man) and some of that music took me back to HS. It was awesome.

Let me guess you would like Beethoven's 5th Symphony correct? Feel like this is half of Americas problem in general is adapting to change.

It's whatever. My wife, who is 27, kept asking why our band was so quiet during certain times in the game on Saturday.

I think you can do both. Hell, even NFL teams bring in marching bands quite a bit. POTS needs to get some better tunes for sure but certain songs are a part of our identity and thats the way it should be.

so 60,000 fans are over 60? That's not been my perception of the demographic. I will say that it will probably do more to get the students and younger fans into the seats. I'm 48 and really dislike the Rap music, but I see the value in trying to reach out to a broader and younger demographic. UT either changes with the times or gets left behind.:peace2:

BTW- my 12 year old son loved the music mix and can't wait to get back to another game. Something to be said for anecdotal results.

Note- I didn't even touch the ridiculous devil music comment.... Oh... I guess I just did.

Football is a young man's game....and an old man's pastime.

I am not a fan of rap, but I can live with it if it gets the players and younger fans excited, and if it brings in the recruits. You have to bend with the times.

I don't mind as long there is a balance..

I do not want to become like everyone else.. I suspect with sec network starting next year they r going to standardize a lot of what's going on so they can sell it as a package n they know most sheep will follow along because everyone wants what everyone has n want someone else to pay for it but have no say n it...

None of the 60+ crowd in my section walked out during the DJ segment. Do some of you live under a rock where only Lawrence Welk plays?

If there is one thing we can all agree on, it is that no one will agree on the music. I probably don't want to hear what you like, and I am fairly certain you do not want to hear the music that gets me "up" either.

Unless this is for the players on the field, or recruits...not many people are going to be happy with what gets played.

Very astute observation. I've owned and run a few fitness centers over the years and believe me when I tell you that music is ALWAYS an issue. You simply can't please everyone so you choose a way to please your most important demographic without totally putting off the others that patron your business.:peace2:

Whatever they play or don't play, I just want them to quit the echo that the PA system causes when the band plays.
