You are high unless you are saying "if he was better than Peyton, he would have been a better QB than Peyton" which makes me also think you are high.

Clausen was a good QB and there really is no need to stack him against Peyton. Both won big games and both lost big games. Florida and Miami stand out on the road. I was in school at UT from 1995-1997 and we lost one home game during that entire span. Peyton threw for nearly 500 yards in that lone loss.

My brother-in-law was in school the same time as Clausen. They were both at the bar and Clausen goes up to the bartender and says "give me a beer and I'm not paying. I'm Casey Clausen."

So yeah, he was a great UT quarterback, but was a bit of a prick off the field.

He was a prick in those days. And for all the accolades about his record on the road... I would rather a QB losses be at Florida rather than be embarrassed at Neyland like we were in 2002.

However, Casey bleeds Orange and no doubt was a great QB for us, an deserves all the respect headed towards him for his accomplishments.
