... I had not seen in years. Last week I saw a Neyland crowd - with the exception of Section X1 - stay involved in the game and regularly get on their feet from start to finish. There was a lot of noise generated that really helped the D. Great to see this enthusiasm.

I'm not a season ticket holder but I do try to get up for a couple of games every year. I'm one of those who stays to the last to watch the crowd clear no matter how the game is going. It's frustrating to see so many fans leave in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

To Section X1: "C'mon man!"

GBO!

Considering how bad UT has been recently the fan turnout for games has been pretty remarkable, especially this year.

UT fans have been waiting for a winner and when the team gets back to a top 25 level Neyland will be incredibly loud.

The guy behind me ask me to sit down after about the 2nd series of the game, that was a first for me. Even though it was cold I removed my jacket to reveal my "hell no I ain't sitting down" TSR t-shirt. They soon moved up a few rows lol.

I brought our family up from Florida for the game. While I was greatly disappointed in the outcome (I hate Vandy since I am from Nashville), I still believe our team is under the right leadership with Butch. I was a scholarship athlete at UT and I spent a lot of sweat, blood and broken bones for our school. I am quite proud that both of my children want to attend UT which is a statement in and of itself. I want results and another National Championship just like everyone else, but let's face it, we have made terrible decisions for coaches, but now we have a guy who I know is a leader. I know there are many "cute" comments from people who are sideline fans, but those of us who gave our all for Tennessee are All In for Butch. Fire away on the smart alec comments as is often the case with VolNation, but I am All Vol, All the Time. I give and gave my All for Tennessee.

The fan support was great this year. CBJ certainly made a huge impact on attendence and atmosphere!

Next year we have to win to keep that mo Jo going.

I believe that I own my seat from my feet to the Heavens and I have told a many of people behind me just that but standing the entire game regardless of your surroundings is past the line.

Have you ever thought about why you would want to stand from start to finish? Do you do it for a benefit, or do you do it just because you feel like it's the right thing to do?

OP must not have been at the Georgia and South Carolina games. If he had he would have seen the same thing.

Regardless, the renewed enthusiasim has been great this season. I have no doubt that it has been having a positive impact on our recruiting this season.

Acceptable to stand up when defense on the field and after offense makes a big play to cheer. Don't be an ass and stand entire time while offense is on the field and during timeouts, etc. Common courtesy. Is it that hard to figure out?

Just so happens I was in X1 and I have to disagree with your observation. With the exception of a few Candy fans, the Vol fans were pretty loud. People around me were on their feet most of the time. At a minimum, they were as loud as the rest of the stadium. Overall, I would give the Vol crowd about a 7 (on a 1 to 10 scale). We have a great fan base who want to see some wins but we have some fans (like every fan base) that come to be seen not heard.

We're in X1 too. Wasn't any different than other games this year except freezing my butt off.

Tennessee Atheletics promised everybody who would stay to the finish a $5 dollar gift certificate to Taco Bell.

That was the only reason I stayed!Tennessee sure loves buying people tacos.

Jeez some people really just don't need to be at the game. Before the 2004 Florida game, I had an old-timer behind me offer me $20 to not stand up the entire game. I politely declined, and then proceeded to stand and yell until I was horse for most of the game (only stood at appropriate times, but that whole game was appropriate lol).

In hindsight, I wish I had taken the bill, ripped it in two, and tossed it back at him. He really has become a bit of a grumpy old dick over the past few years.

For those who like to stand: there are many of us who have bad knees, or a bad back. It's hard to stand for long periods of time. That's why it's frustrating to have someone stand the entire game, when you can't, or can only stand for short periods of time.

very glad I sit in a front row. Anybody standing in front of me is taking quite a fall and would make a great blurb on ESPN.
